In the United States, there is little clarity on the qualifications and availability of equine nutritionists. Currently, no regulatory body exists for formal credentialing outside of veterinary medicine. Most equine nutritionists are not veterinarians but do have advanced scientific degrees (Master of Science and/or Doctor of Philosophy) in the field of Animal Science.

Guttural pouch endoscopy allows for both the visualization and treatment of many clinical problems in the equine retropharyngeal region. This area is extremely complex, and its description remains a real challenge for veterinary anatomists and practitioners. Six clinically normal equine cadavers were employed.

The 2021 Annual Joint Meeting (AJM) and Young Investigators' Forum of the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation / Société Canadienne de Recherches Clinique (CSCI/SCRC) and Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada/Association des Cliniciens-Chercheurs en Formation du Canada (CITAC/ACCFC) was hosted virtually on November 14-16th, 2021. The theme of the AJM was "Communication, Collaboration, and Tools for the Next Generation of Clinician Scientists", and emphasized lectures, panels and interactive workshops designed to provide knowledge and skills for professional development of clinician investigator trainees. The opening remarks were given by Nicola Jones (President of CSCI/SCRC) and Adam Pietrobon (Past President of CITAC/ACCFC).

The aim of this study is to report cases of caecal dysfunction following surgical procedures in the standing horse. The study design is retrospective. Six client-owned horses developed caecal dysfunction following a variety of surgical procedures undertaken in the standing sedated horse.

The advent of high throughput sequencing approaches and ancient DNA techniques have enabled reconstructing the history of human populations at an unprecedented level of resolution. The symposium from the French Academy of Sciences "50,000 ans d'épopée humaine dans notre ADN" has reviewed some of the latest contributions from the fields of genomics, archaeology, and linguistics to our understanding of 300,000 years of human history. DNA has revealed the richness of the human journey, from the deep divergences between human populations in Africa, to the first encounters of Homo Sapiens with other hominins on their way to Eurasia and the peopling of Remote Oceania.
