The Research Program ( ) seeks to accelerate biomedical research and address the underrepresentation of minorities by recruiting over one million ethnically diverse participants across the United States. A key question is how self-identification with discrete, predefined race and ethnicity categories compares to genetic diversity at continental and subcontinental levels. To contextualize the genetic diversity in , we analyzed ∼2 million common variants from 230,016 unrelated whole genomes using classical population genetics methods, alongside reference panels such as the 1000 Genomes Project, Human Genome Diversity Project, and Simons Genome Diversity Project.

Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) via its coreceptor αKlotho (KL) provides critical control of phosphate metabolism, which is altered in both rare and very common syndromes. Identifying and quantifying the dominant factors influencing heavy metal (HM) pollution sources are essential for maintaining soil ecological health and implementing effective pollution control measures. This study analyzed soil HM samples from 53 different land use types in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, China. Pollution sources were identified using Absolute Principal Component Score (APCS), with 8 anthropogenic factors, 9 natural factors, and 4 soil physicochemical properties mapped using Geographic Information System (GIS) kernel density estimation.

Background: With the rising prevalence of obesity, surgeons are frequently confronted with the problem of treating osteoarthritis of the hip via arthroplasty (total hip arthroplasty) in severely obese patients. To reduce the surgical impact, minimal-invasive approaches are often chosen. For this reason, the direct anterior approach has gained popularity but is suspected of leading to more wound complications in obese patients, especially by Gram-negative pathogens.
