Cytokinin signalling plays both positive and negative roles in plant resistance to pathogens. It is not clear whether the role of cytokinin changes at the different stages of pathogen infection. Arabidopsis thaliana sequentially exhibits distinct root morphological symptoms during Ralstonia solanacearum infection, which offers a good system to investigate function of cytokinin in the whole pathogen infection process.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic multifactorial inflammatory skin disorder with a complex etiology. Despite its increasing prevalence, treatment of AD is still limited. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) is found in cruciferous vegetables and is formed when these vegetables are cut, chewed, or cooked; it exerts diverse pharmacological activities.

Exposure to environmental contaminants can result in profound effects on the host immune system. One class of environmental toxicants, known as dioxins, are persistent environmental contaminants termed "forever chemicals". The archetype toxicant from this group of chemicals is 2, 3, 7, 8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), an immunotoxicant that activates the aryl-hydrocarbon receptor pathway leading to a variety of changes in immune cell responses.

Fibrosis, characterised by excessive extracellular matrix deposition, contributes to both organ failure and significant mortality worldwide. Whereas fibroblasts are activated into myofibroblasts, marked by phenotypic factors such as α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), periostin, fibroblast activation protein (FAP) and heat shock protein 47 (HSP47), the cellular processes of trans-differentiation for fibrosis development remain poorly understood. Herein, we hypothesised that the molecular signalling of geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP), a crucial biochemical molecule for protein prenylation, is essential in the regulation of profibrotic mechanisms for fibroblast-to-myofibroblast activation.

The circadian clock regulates mitochondrial function and affects time-dependent metabolic responses to exercise. The present study aimed to determine the effects of aerobic exercise timing at the light-dark phase on the proteins expression of the circadian clock, mitochondrial dynamics, and, NAD-SIRT1-PPARα axis in skeletal muscle of high-fat diet-induced diabetic mice. In this experimental study, thirty male mice were randomly assigned into two groups based on time: the early light phase, ZT3, and the early dark phase, ZT15, and three groups at each time: (1) Healthy Control (HC), (2) Diabetic Control (DC), and (3) Diabetic + Exercise (DE).
