Pathogenic intracellular bacteria pose a significant threat to global public health due to the barriers presented by host cells hindering the timely detection of hidden bacteria and the effective delivery of therapeutic agents. To address these challenges, we propose a tandem diagnosis-guided treatment paradigm. A supramolecular sensor array is developed for simple, rapid, accurate, and high-throughput identification of intracellular bacteria.

This differential extraction protocol details the steps for isolating DNA from sample pads used in lateral flow immunochromatographic (LFI) tests, particularly for cases involving mixed biological samples such as semen and menstrual blood, or other evidence related to sexual assault. This procedure utilizes a differential extraction technique applied to sample pads from immunochromatographic tests, where the sample pads serve as the substrate. The method involves two sequential lysis steps to effectively separate non-sperm and sperm fractions, enabling the targeted isolation of distinct cell types for downstream DNA analysis.

Introduction: Ovarian cancer (OC) is the sixth most common malignancy in women and the poor 5-year survival emphasises the need for novel therapies. NK cells play an important role in the control of malignant disease but the nature of tumour-infiltrating and peripheral NK cells in OC remains unclear.
Methods: Using flow cytometric analysis, we studied the phenotype and function of NK cells in blood, primary tumour and metastatic tissue in 80 women with OC.

Introduction: Accurate platelet (PLT) counting is crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment, especially under the condition of thrombocytopenia and platelet transfusion. A few PLT counting approaches have been established including impedance and fluorescent methods. The impedance PLT counting (PLT-I) approach could be interfered by small non-PLT particles in the blood, such as RBC/WBC fragments, microcytes, bacteria, and cryoglobulins.
