Bovine whole blood and washed erythrocyte samples with either sodium heparin or EDTA as the anticoagulant were stored at -24, 2 to 3, 21, or 37 C for up to 8 weeks to determine the stability of erythrocyte cholinesterase (ChE) activity. An automated colorimetric method was used to measure ChE activity. Regression analysis was used to estimate the rate of decline of ChE activity of samples to 95% of normal. Samples stored at -24 and 2 to 3 C were very stable, and ChE activity was maintained for several weeks or longer. Samples stored at 21 C maintained an activity level not less than 95% of normal for at least 9 days and those stored at 37 C for at least 2 days. The type of anticoagulant used did not appear to affect significantly the stability of activity.

Purpose: To describe the trajectories of health-risk behaviors (HRBs) among college students through four consecutive surveys and explore the relationship between chronotype, sleep duration and different trajectories of HRBs.
Methods: We used a data sample of 1,042 college students from the College Student Behavior and Health Cohort Study. Students reported sleep parameters, including chronotype (Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire-5, MEQ-5) and sleep duration.

The flexibility and programmability of CRISPR-Cas technology have made it one of the most popular tools for biomarker diagnostics and gene regulation. Especially, the CRISPR-Cas12 system has shown exceptional clinical diagnosis and gene editing capabilities. Here, we discovered that although the top loop of the 5' handle of guide RNA can undergo central splitting, deactivating CRISPR-Cas12a, the segments can dramatically restore CRISPR function through nucleic acid self-assembly or interactions with small molecules and aptamers.

This research aims to optimize adjuvant ovarian function suppression (OFS) for premenopausal Indian women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) /human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) early breast cancer (eBC). To address specific challenges identified in clinical practice, a comprehensive questionnaire consisting of 21 statements was developed. These statements were reviewed and validated by a scientific committee, ensuring their accuracy and relevance to the study's objectives.

Introduction: This study aims to investigate the impact of geographical origin on the metabolite composition and bioactivity of Thesium chinense Turcz. (TCT), a member of the Apiaceae family renowned for its wide range of pharmacological properties, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, we investigated the whole plants of TCT from different regions in China, aiming to explore the geographical variation of TCT.

Background: Patients with asthma exhibit a significantly heightened susceptibility to eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) when compared to the general population. Vigilance for EGPA manifestations is crucial, especially in cases where asthma remains poorly controlled despite high-dose corticosteroid therapy or when eosinophil counts exceed 5%. The diagnosis of EGPA can be complex due to the absence of definitive biomarkers, as indicated by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR)'s 1990 classification criteria.
