In hyperthyroidism suppression and non-suppression of early radioiodine neck uptake by exogenous thyroid hormone after a course of antithyroid drugs does not indicate clearly those patients who will eventually relapse or have a remission. Sixty-four hyperthyroid patients have been followed up for two years after an 18 to 24 months' course of carbimazole. Twenty-eight patients had suppressed at the end of the carbimazole course and 20 of these remained in remission for two years, and 36 were non-suppressed and 21 of these relapsed.Patients with the highest neck uptakes relapsed soonest after stopping treatment. Pronounced rebound occurred in neck uptakes at one month after stopping treatment, both in patients who relapsed and in those who remained in remission. By one year after stopping treatment those who remained in remission had shown a further fall in early neck uptake. In two patients who relapsed after exposure to stressful events no change in 20-minute radioiodine neck uptakes was found in relation to the supposed stress.

Background: Mental health concerns have become increasingly prevalent; however, care remains inaccessible to many. While digital mental health interventions offer a promising solution, self-help and even coached apps have not fully addressed the challenge. There is now a growing interest in hybrid, or blended, care approaches that use apps as tools to augment, rather than to entirely guide, care.

Introduction: Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a very rare disease, with unique diagnostic challenges and often dismal outcome. There are no widely accepted treatment guidelines available. Lymphoma-like regimens with or without autologous or allogenic transplantation were the cornerstone of most therapeutic concepts.

CD7-targeted chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cell therapy has shown great promise in the treatment of relapsed/refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). In this study, we reported a case of a 34-year-old male patient with T-ALL who finally developed multi-line drug resistance and refractoriness after multiple lines of high-intensity chemotherapy. After physician evaluation, this patient received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).

Background: Previous studies suggested an important role of impairments in T cell subsets in different stages during type 1 diabetes (T1D) development, while data regarding CD25high T cells and transforming growth factor b1 (TGFβ1), both T regulatory associated, remains controversial. We analyzed the level of (a) CD25high T cells (b) TGFβ1 in 17 first-degree relatives of patients with T1D in stage 1 (FDRs1) (GADA+, IA-2+); 34 FDRs in stage 0 (FDRs0) (GADA, IA-2); 24 recent-onset T1D in insulin-requiring state (IRS); 10 patients in clinical remission (CR); 18 healthy, unrelated controls (CTR).
Methods: T cell subsets were characterized by two-color immunofluorescence staining and flow cytometry; TGFβ1 was determined by ELISA, GADA, and IA-2 by RIA.

Background: Cold agglutinin disease (CAD) or syndrome (CAS) can be particularly challenging when autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) is needed. Standard peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collection and manipulation involve ex vivo blood manipulations at lower than body temperature, predisposing to agglutination during graft collection, handling, processing, and infusion.
Study Design And Methods: We describe the first case of ASCT for relapsing lymphoma in a patient with high-titer CAD requiring anti-complement therapy and chronic transfusion.
