It has been shown that in all age groups of animals, self-stimulation of the hypothalamus is accompanied with the decrease in the latent period and the increase in the amplitude of the evoked potential (EP) in the auditory cortex. During negative stimulation, the increase in temporal parameters of the response takes place together with the decrease in the amplitude of the EP and the onset of secondary waves. Significant age changes were revealed in the recovery of the initial pattern of the EP after cessation of stimulation of emotiogenic zones. The recovery of the EP after stimulation of the "reward" zone in younger rabbits occurs 4 times faster than in adult animals, whereas in the former the recovery period of the EP after stimulation of the "punishment" zone is significantly longer.

Post-stroke aphasia is a network disorder characterized by language impairments and aberrant network activation. While patients with post-stroke aphasia recover over time, the dynamics of the underlying changes in the brain remain elusive. Neuroimaging work demonstrated that language recovery is a heterogeneous process, characterized by varying activation levels in several regions of the left-hemispheric language network and the domain-general bilateral multiple-demand network.

Background: Preterm infants are at high risk for subsequent neurodevelopmental disability. Early developmental characterization of brain and neurobehavioral function is critical for identifying high-risk infants. This study aimed to elucidate the early evolution of sensorimotor function in preterm neonates by exploring postnatal age-related changes in the brain white matter (WM) and neurobehavioral abilities.

Background: Korean Red Ginseng and ginsenosides have been studied for their efficacy against various diseases, including those related to aging. However, most aging studies use D-galactose to induce aging, which often does not accurately represent natural aging. This study aimed to verify improvements in auditory, cognitive, and liver function through administering red ginseng to an 18-month-old naturally aging mouse model.

Study Design: With this randomized, participant-blinded, sham-controlled trial, we expanded our previous results. Specifically, we examined neurofeedback effects from the STG, an area associated with auditory hallucinations.

Listeners with hearing loss have trouble following a conversation in multitalker environments. While modern hearing aids can generally amplify speech, these devices are unable to tune into a target speaker without first knowing to which speaker a user aims to attend. Brain-controlled hearing aids have been proposed using auditory attention decoding (AAD) methods, but current methods use the same model to compare the speech stimulus and neural response, regardless of the dynamic overlap between talkers which is known to influence neural encoding.
