Objective: to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis of asthma treatment with budesonide/formoterol against other treatment options used at Mexico's National Institute for Respiratory Diseases.
Methods: A complete economic evaluation of cost-effectiveness from a public health perspective, comparing the use of budesonide/formoterol as maintenance therapy with fluticasone/vilanterol in 103 female asthma patients managed at INER between 2015 and 2021.
Results: Average cost per patient was $743.

Background And Objective: Approximately half of lung adenocarcinomas in East Asia harbor epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. EGFR testing followed by tissue-based next-generation sequencing (NGS), upfront tissue-based NGS, and complementary NGS approaches have emerged on the front line to guide personalized therapy. We study the cost effectiveness of exclusionary EGFR testing for Taiwanese patients newly diagnosed with advanced lung adenocarcinoma.

Background: The ε4 allele of the apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene is the strongest genetic determinant for Alzheimer's disease and cognitive function in nearly all human populations, yet inconsistent effects have been reported in South Asians. The population of India has admixed genetic ancestry with most people falling on a North/South cline and having varying proportions of Ancestral North Indian (ANI) and Ancestral South Indian (ASI) ancestries, and those in east of India fall off the cline due to ancestry from additional ancestral populations. This study examined the ε4 association with cognitive function across 18 states/union territories of India and investigated whether ancestral background modulates ε4 association with cognitive function in 2,590 participants from the Longitudinal Aging Study in India - Diagnostic Assessment of Dementia (LASI-DAD).

The Malanjkhand chalcopyrite deposit, India's primary copper ore producer, has potential for enhanced flotation performance. This study employs standard flotation experiments using a mechanical cell, integrating a conventional collecting agent with a novel ester-based collector blend. A three-factor, three-level Box-Behnken design systematically evaluated experimental parameters, analysed using ANOVA, cubic plots, response surface methodologies.

Life expectancy provides insights into population health and the socio-economic development level of a country. However, there has been a significant gap in life expectancy between developed and underdeveloped countries, although these countries and international institutions have focused on reducing these inequalities. This article explores the long-term effects of social, educational, and health expenditures together with GDP on indicators of life expectancy in the OECD states over the period of 2005-2021 through second-generation cointegration analysis.
