Purpose: High-frequency surgical devices with various functionalities are widely used in Europe and Japan. In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of the maXium HF surgical device manufactured by KLS Martin (Germany) during endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR).
Materials And Methods: The maXium device offers multiple preconfigured modes for incision and coagulation tailored to different surgical procedures.
Background: The aim of this study was to identify a gut microbial signature associated with patterns of gray matter volume in AD, and to validate the microbial signature by testing it against measures of AD pathology and cognitive performance. Prior literature suggests that microbial species involved in bile acid production and inflammation may be implicated in the microbial signature.
Method: The sample comprised 204 Microbiome in Alzheimer's Risk Study participants (22 AD, 10 MCI, and 172 CN; 129 Females, 78 APOE+) from the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention.

Background: Mild cognitive impairment may increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) or probably accelerate the progression. AD is the most common cause of dementia, substantial neuronal loss, and neuropathological lesions can damage many brain regions. Symptoms of the disease begin with mild memory difficulties and evolve towards cognitive impairment.

Background: The gut microbiota plays a certain role in Alzheimer's disease, and various types of enteritis can also cause disturbances in the gut microbiota. Recently, researchers have substantially highlighted the effect of some enteritis on Alzheimer's disease incidence and development. In this study, we elucidated the correlation between mucosal proctocolitis and Alzheimer's disease and possible mechanism.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) therapy requires timely and accurate diagnosis for prompt drug intervention, emphasizing the need for a more accessible biomarker screening test. Previous studies identified higher expression of oligomeric Aβ in AD patients, however, the quantitative measurements of nasal Aβ42 levels of the full AD continuum remain unknown.
Method: We collected nasal discharge samples from 161 subjects who underwent neuropsychological battery tests and amyloid-PET and nasal Aβ42 levels were measured via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
