We report a case of spontaneous coronary dissection (SCAD) in a 32-year-old pregnant patient during the seventh month of her second pregnancy. A 32-year-old pregnant woman in the 28th week of gestation was referred to our intensive care unit because of angina as well as elevated troponin levels. The initial electrocardiogram and transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) were normal.

Unmasking Culprit Complex Infero-Posterior STEMI: Navigating Ad Hoc RCA CTO PCI.

JACC Case Rep

January 2025

Section of Cardiovascular Diseases, White River Health, Batesville, Arkansas, USA.

Patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction require rapid and decisive interventions to restore blood flow to the affected myocardium, minimizing ischemic damage. This case report is particularly unique because it involves a patient presenting with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, where the culprit lesion was an occluded coronary artery graft with an extensive thrombus burden. The complexity of this case necessitated a strategic shift to revascularize the chronically occluded native vessel instead of the graft.

Thermal-Sensitive Artificial Ionic Skin with Environmental Stability and Self-Healing Property.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Organic Optoelectronics and Molecular Engineering and Laboratory of Flexible Electronics Technology, Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, P. R. China.

Wearable temperature-sensitive electronic skin enables robots to rapidly detect environmental changes and respond intelligently, thereby reducing temperature-related mechanical failures. Additionally, this temperature-sensitive skin can measure and record the temperature of external objects, broadening its potential applications in the medical field. In this study, we designed a thermally sensitive artificial ionic skin using ionic liquids (ILs) as solvents and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as thermally conductive fillers.

Effect of two novel GABAA receptor positive allosteric modulators on neuropathic and inflammatory pain in mice.

Neuropharmacology

January 2025

Department of Pharmacy, Nanjing First Hospital, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China; School of Basic Medicine and Clinical Pharmacy, China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing, China. Electronic address:

Loss of GABAergic inhibition in the spinal dorsal horn (SDH) is implicated in central sensitization and chronic pain. Both agonists and positive allosteric modulators (PAMs) of GABAA receptor are found to be effective in the management of chronic pain. In addition to benzodiazepines, neuroactive steroids (NASs) also act as PAMs through binding to unique sites of GABAA receptors.
