Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (-SNOM) under the excitation of single cycle picosecond (ps) pulse provides access to terahertz (THz) time-resolved nanoscopy. However, the development of THz nanoscopy has been greatly limited due to the inherently low efficiency of the scattered field and the convolution of the intrinsic material response with the extrinsic response of the cantilevered tip. In this work, we quantitatively study the near-field time-delayed pulse transients of resonant cantilevered tips, observing localized tip-enhanced coupling as well as delocalized collective charge oscillations propagating as resonant surface waves along cantilevered tips.

The precise origins of fast radio bursts (FRBs) remain unknown. Multiwavelength observations of nearby FRB sources can provide important insights into the enigmatic FRB phenomenon. Here we present results from a sensitive, broadband X-ray and radio observational campaign of FRB 20200120E, the closest known extragalactic repeating FRB source (located 3.

Purpose: To characterize frequency-dependent wave speed dispersion in the human cornea using microliter air-pulse optical coherence elastography (OCE), and to evaluate the applicability of Lamb wave theory for determining corneal elastic modulus using high-frequency symmetric (S0) and anti-symmetric (A0) guided waves in cornea.

Methods: Wave speed dispersion analysis for transient (0.5 ms) microliter air-pulse stimulation was performed in four rabbit eyes ex vivo and compared to air-coupled ultrasound excitation.

Microglia, the parenchymal macrophage of the central nervous system, serve crucial remodeling functions throughout development. Microglia are transcriptionally heterogenous, suggesting that distinct microglial states confer discrete roles. Currently, little is known about how dynamic these states are, the cues that promote them, or how they impact microglial function.

Shock Wave Research Laboratory, Department of Physics, Abdul Kalam Research Centre, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Serkkadu, Tamil Nadu, 635 601, India.

In this study, Zinc Telluride (ZnTe) was subjected to acoustic shock waves with a Mach number of 1.5, transient pressure of 0.59 MPa, and a temperature of 520 K to analyze its stability against shock wave impact.
