The reproducibility of a number of echocardiographic and tetrapolar rheoplethysmographic parameters was checked at a one-hour interval in 26 coronary patients, and at a one-day interval in 54 patients. Left-ventricular diastolic diameter and stroke volume, as determined by the method of Rasmussen et al., and mean rates of closure of the anterior cusp of the mitral valve and myocardial fibre circular shortening showed the best reproducibility. Some parameters measured using the said technique showed a natural, but insignificant change over the study period, the respiration slightly affecting the diastolic diameter of the left ventricle.
