In-house reference materials (ihRM) are an alternative to the limited supply of reference materials for method validation and assurance of the validity of pesticide residue results. Currently, limited information exists on producing ihRM of pesticide residues in food for laboratory testing purposes for the desired matrix/analyte/concentration combination. This study aimed to develop in-house reference materials for three food matrices: banana, rice, and green coffee spiked with a total of 22 pesticides, which were selected for their relevance in food matrices, with pK values ranging from -0.13 to 5.8 following the guidelines of ISO Guide 80:2014. In this study, we assessed the impact of spiking (solvent) and drying conditions (freeze-dried and oven) on homogeneity uncertainty. The final step of this work involved evaluating the homogeneity and kinetics for long-term stability (4 °C) according to the ISO 33405 guidelines, using a fully validated method based on QuEChERS and measurement by LC-MS/MS through a completely randomized block design with two-way ANOVA, and simple linear regression analysis for homogeneity and stability, respectively. In general, for the three matrices, it was found that using a predominantly aqueous solvent (>70%) and freeze-drying resulted in sufficient homogeneity and no significant processing trends (slope p-value > 0.05), compared to using an organic medium (>70%), which resulted in uncertainties up to 50 times higher for several analytes. On the other hand, uncertainties for long-term stability below 3% were obtained for most of the analytes at 4 °C. The results demonstrate that homogeneous and stable ihRMs can be obtained under the provided preparation conditions, although special attention is required for processing conditions, particularly for the banana at a larger scale.

Micro/nano manipulation of single nanowire has emerged as a popular direction of study in the field of nanotechnology, with promising applications in cutting-edge technologies such as device manufacturing, medical treatment, and nanorobotics. The synthesis of nanowires with controllable length and diameter makes them meet various micro/nano manipulation demands. As manipulation techniques have advanced, including the use of optical tweezers, electric and magnetic fields, mechanical control, and several more control methods, they have demonstrated unique advantages in different application fields.

Objective: To assess the frequency of unrecognized myocardial infarction and identify additional ischemic conditions, as well as to evaluate the efficacy of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) in risk groups, comparing the imaging findings with electro-cardiographic (ECG) and laboratory data in patients with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, also known as end-stage renal disease.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective single-center study involving 20 patients who were referred to our radiology department to undergo CMRI between June 2010 and December 2011. Resting left ventricular functions and (early and late) myocardial contrast enhancement were assessed in all patients.

Background: Understanding the factors contributing to willingness to participate in randomized clinical trials (RCTs) after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is crucial to optimizing recruitment and understanding whether interested participants represent the patient population that may benefit from the studied treatment.
Purpose: To understand patients' willingness to participate in a future RCT of an oral medication to prevent posttraumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) after ACLR.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study; Level of evidence, 3.

Unlabelled: Alongside global climate change, many freshwater ecosystems are experiencing substantial shifts in the concentrations and compositions of salt ions coming from both land and sea. We synthesize a risk framework for anticipating how climate change and increasing salt pollution coming from both land and saltwater intrusion will trigger chain reactions extending from headwaters to tidal waters. Salt ions trigger 'chain reactions,' where chemical products from one biogeochemical reaction influence subsequent reactions and ecosystem responses.

Introduction: The landmarks of Thoracic Oncology in the last two decades have been accompanied by exponential growth in costs, making it imperative to assess the real benefit of incorporating new technologies. Combining immunotherapy (IO) with platinum-etoposide chemotherapy has become the standard of care in first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). However, the absolute difference in overall survival (OS) has reached three months.
