Spinal premotor circuits play a fundamental role in motor control. The corticospinal tract (CST) provides control signals to premotor circuits in the spinal cord, guiding voluntary skilled movements. Unilateral selective lesion of the CST in the medullary pyramidal tract (PTX) produces transneuronal degeneration, whereby Choline Acetyltransferase-positive (ChAT) premotor interneurons contralesionally undergo non-apoptotic degeneration by microglial phagocytosis.

Background: Effective postoperative pain management is crucial in caesarean delivery (CD) to enhance recovery, minimize opioid use, and improve maternal outcomes. Intrathecal morphine (ITM) is widely used but can cause side effects, such as pruritus and nausea. Posterior quadratus lumborum block (QLB) has emerged as a potential alternative for postoperative analgesia.

Background And Aims: Intrathecal anaesthesia is widely used for infraumbilical surgeries due to its effectiveness in providing pain relief during and after the operation. Adding magnesium sulphate (MgSO) to intrathecal local anaesthetics can prolong analgesia, reduce postoperative analgesic requirements and improve the management of shivering perioperatively. This review aims to investigate the use of intrathecal adjuvant MgSO4 for anaesthesia in infraumbilical surgeries.

Cardiac ischemic reperfusion injury (IRI) significantly exacerbates cardiac dysfunction and heart failure, causing high mortality. Despite the severity of IRI, effective therapeutic strategies remain elusive. Acellular cardiac patches have shown considerable efficacy in delivering therapeutics directly to cardiac tissues.
