Robotic gastrectomy is a safe and minimally invasive approach that may reduce the risk of complications in patients with severely impaired pulmonary function. Here, we report the successful treatment of an 80-year-old patient with gastric cancer and myasthenia gravis(MG)using perioperative respiratory rehabilitation and robotic gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy. Patients with gastric cancer and severe pulmonary dysfunction are at a risk of postoperative respiratory disorders, including severe pneumonia. This report shows that robotic gastrectomy is a promising procedure for patients with MG and severe pulmonary dysfunction and highlights its usefulness as a safe approach to avoid pulmonary complications.
