A method of reference phase velocity selecting for bearing estimation with a horizontal line array in shallow water.

In shallow water environments, choosing an appropriate reference phase velocity for direction-of-arrival estimation with a beamformed underwater horizontal line array is very important. The direction of the maximum beamformer output power will deviate from the true source bearing when a mismatched reference phase velocity was used. This Letter analyzed the intrinsic relationship between the reference phase velocity and normal mode amplitude distribution, source bearing, array aperture, and then proposed a multi-parameter weighted reference phase velocity selection method, which has improved the accuracy of source bearing estimation. Numerical simulation and experimental results validated the effectiveness of this method.

Survey of the impact of BOLT-trial data on oncologists' and dermatologists' decision-making in treating patients with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignant tumor in white populations. Multiple studies demonstrated that the aberrant activation of Hedgehog signaling is a driver of BCC development, and its blockade represents a potential therapeutic target. In Italy, clinicians can prescribe Hedgehog inhibitors (HhIs) vismodegib and sonidegib.

There are approximately 537 million adults with diabetes worldwide, and insulin still plays an important role in its treatment. However, the long-term use of insulin imposes a significant financial burden on patients. This study aims to explore the pharmacokinetic (PK)/ pharmacodynamic (PD) parameters of generic premixed insulin lispro 25 (25% insulin lispro and 75% protamine zinc lispro) and evaluate the bio-equivalence between generic and brand-name preparations to reduce medical costs while ensuring the effectiveness and safety of treatment.

Purpose: To compare the performance of pseudoplanar (PP) images reprojected from bone single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) against 'real' planar bone scintigraphy for the assessment of localization and grading of radiotracer uptake of active osteoarthritic joints in the foot and ankle. Noninferiority of PP images would shorten the protocol substantially.

Methods: Late-phase real planar (RP) and SPECT/CT reconstructed PP images of 96 feet in 48 patients (22 women, 26 men, median age: 49 years, interquartile range: 34-67 years) with foot and ankle osteoarthritis were independently evaluated by three different readers.
