Depletion of soil organic matter was found to be the primary biophysical factor causing declining per capita food production in sub-Saharan Africa. The magnitude of this problem was exacerbated by moisture-stress and imbalanced fertilizer application that caused Striga weed infestation. To address such confounded issues, two-year field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of residual vermicompost and preceding groundnut on soil fertility, sorghum yield, and Striga density.

Objective: Young children at-risk for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often experience sleep problems, which may exacerbate ADHD symptoms and related impairment. Yet, little is known about modifiable factors associated with the maintenance of sleep problems. This study examined the relationships among parenting practices, behavioral self-regulation skills, and sleep functioning in young children at-risk for ADHD.

Background: The Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) 2022 estimates highlight cancer as a significant global health problem. In the South-East Asia-region, India ranks third in terms of cancer incidence, second for mortality, and 121 in terms of crude rates globally. As cancer risks increase with age, particularly affecting older individuals, this study explores the current cancer burden in India by analyzing the cancer landscape across different age groups, determining the population's risk of cancer diagnosis and death, and projecting the future cancer burden aligned with past mortality patterns.

Objective: Parkinson's disease (PD) presents with voice disturbances accompanied by sensory processing and awareness deficits. Sensory feedback from the voice, which is essential in speech production, is often impaired in individuals with PD (IwPD), potentially leading to such difficulties in the self-perception and awareness of voice disorder. However, aging naturally affects sensory and motor brain systems, including those involved in voice production; therefore, it remains unclear whether the combined effects of age and PD exacerbate deficits in voice self-perception and awareness deficit.
