Melanoma is the most malignant skin tumor caused by the malignancy of melanocytes that produce the melanin pigment. Various methods have been developed to combat melanoma, with photodynamic therapy (PDT) gaining the spotlight for its ability to eliminate cancer cells by generating reactive oxygen species through light-sensitive photosensitizers. 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) is the most commonly used PDT agent, which could be converted to the PpIX photosensitizer molecule within cancer cells.

Background: Burn wounds are commonly encountered in clinical settings and the management aims at the prevention of mortality and morbidity due to disability. The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood-derived biomaterial that is enriched with growth factors and cytokines that facilitate wound healing. The PRP has proven its efficacy in various other wounds, but its role in post-burn raw areas and graft take has not been validated.

Background: Purpureocillium lilacinum is a type of fungus that is found all over the world and is known for its ability to help control pests, especially those that harm plants. Generally, this fungus does not cause serious problems for healthy people, but it can lead to severe infections in individuals with weakened immune systems. In this report, we discuss a rare case where a healthy person developed an infection after being exposed to a biopesticide containing this fungus.
