Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the factors influencing patient reported outcome measures (PROM) of biceps tenodesis after the rupture of proximal long head of the biceps tendon.
Methods: Retrospective chart review was conducted to identify patients with complete proximal rupture of the long head of the biceps that underwent biceps tenodesis between 2002-2017. This yielded 42 patients, of which 23 (55%) completed the PROMIS Pain Interference, PROMIS Upper Extremity, Quick DASH, and a custom biceps tear questionnaire, at a median of 8.

Context: Upper extremity injuries are extremely common in contact sports such as football, soccer, and lacrosse. The culture of competitive athletics provides an environment where hand injuries are frequently downplayed in an effort to prevent loss of game time. However, studies have shown that many sport-induced hand injuries do not actually require immediate surgical attention and can be safely treated through immobilization so that the athlete may complete the athletic season.

Background: Cutaneous injury following impact of a high velocity ball to the skin may result in either erythema or purpura or both. The lesion typically appears as an annular ring of erythema with or without accompanying ecchymosis when the skin is contacted by a paintball, a ping pong ball, a racquetball or a squash ball.
Purpose: To describe a girl with targetoid erythema following impact of a racquetball on her flank and back and to review other sports associated with this response to skin injury.

The purpose of this study was to compare the session ratings of perceived exertion (Session-RPE) responses and the salivary cortisol (sC) and immunoglobulin A (SIgA) levels between a regular season match (RM) and the final championship match (FM) in elite male volleyball players against the same opponent team. Higher importance was assumed for FM because this match would define the championship team. Session-RPE was obtained after 30 minutes of each match using the CR-10 scale.
