In the title compound, CHBrO, the dihedral angle between the chromen-2-one ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.006 Å) and the bromo-benzene ring is 10.29 (6)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected through C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions. According to a Hirshfeld surface analysis, H⋯H (22.4%), O⋯H/H⋯O (23.6%) and C⋯H/H⋯C (21%) inter-actions are the most significant contributors to the crystal packing.

A one-pot process involving cycloaddition of the azaoxyallyl cation with thioamide and a synchronous E1-type elimination of the C2 amino group from the cycloadduct is disclosed, leading to diverse alkylidene-4-thiazolidinones. Amine elimination under acid-free conditions or without quaternization and forging a stereoselective olefin formation were among the interesting reactivity traits revealed through the present work. Conjugated thioamide permitted side-chain branching through a three-component process.

This therapy has found use in treating glioblastoma, which as a brain cancer, is difficult to treat using conventional radiotherapy, surgery, and chemotherapy due to location and the risk of brain damage. Synthesis of high-molecular-weight polypeptides and their block copolymer macromolecular architectures from β-sheet-promoting L-amino acids is still an unresolved problem. Here, an elegant steric hindrance-assisted ring-opening polymerization (SHAROP) strategy is introduced to access β-sheet poly(L-tyrosine) having more than 250 units. The scope of the synthetic methodology is expanded to access unexplored poly(L-tyrosine)-based higher-order β-sheet block copolymer nanoassemblies.

The self-assemblies of topological complex block copolymers, especially the AB type miktoarm star ones, are fascinating topics in the soft matter field, which represent typical self-assembly behaviors analogous to those of biological membranes. However, their diverse topological asymmetries and versatile spontaneous curvatures result in rather complex phase separations that deviate significantly from the common mechanisms. Thus, numerous trial-and-error experiments with tremendous parameter space and intricate relationships are needed to study their assemblies.

Background: Traditional studies of protein responses to external stimuli primarily focus on changes in protein abundance, often overlooking the critical role of protein conformational alterations. To address this gap, we developed Protein Abundance and Conformation Analysis (PACA), an integrative method that quantifies both protein abundance and conformational changes. PACA combines conventional quantitative proteomics for abundance measurements with Target Response Accessibility Profiling (TRAP), a technique that captures conformational changes in situ by applying reductive dimethylation to label accessible lysine residues in living cells before lysis.
