This is a case report of a 64-year-old male with swelling over the right side of the face due to swelling in the oral cavity with a peduncle attached to the gingiva. On the basis of radiological and histopathological features, we diagnosed the growth as a giant peripheral ossifying fibroma and proceeded with surgical management.

Gnathodiaphyseal dysplasia (GDD) is a rare genetic syndrome characterized by cemento-ossifying fibroma lesions in the mandible and sclerosis of tubular bones. Currently, the clinical treatment of GDD is limited to surgical resection; therefore, novel treatment strategies developed through exploration of the related mechanisms are needed. Mutations in the TMEM16E/ANO5 gene are considered the main pathogenic factor of GDD, and the Ano5 knockout mouse model (Ano5) established previously, which presented GDD-like characteristics, exhibited decreased osteoclastogenesis.

Background: Ossifying fibroma (OF) is a non-common benign fibrous-osseous lesion with highly aggressive behavior and tends to recur. Here, we report a case where Ossifying Fibroma (OF) was diagnosed in an adolescent female patient and was treated by marginal mandibular resection to avoid esthetic and functional defects in the future.
Case Presentation: OF was diagnosed in a 13-year-old woman incidentally.

This case report highlights the clinical progression of a recurrent pyogenic granuloma (PG) in a 17-year-old male baseball player who experienced the transition of the lesion into a calcifying fibroblastic granuloma (CFG) extending into the periosteum and underlying bone. Adolescence, a period marked by significant hormonal changes and increased susceptibility to stress due to the demands of being an athlete, combined with a lack of proper oral hygiene, may have played a significant role in the lesion's development, recurrence, and progression to CFG. The initial treatment involved excisional biopsy, followed by more extensive surgical intervention, including excision of the periosteum and bone curettage, to ensure complete removal of the recurrent lesion.
