In this study, we examine the male reproductive apparatus and sperm morphology of Thaumastocoris peregrinus (Thaumastocoridae), a pest of Eucalyptus plantations, to explore its phylogenetic implications using light and transmission electron microscopy. The reproductive apparatus comprises paired testes with three follicles each, dilated efferent ducts acting as seminal vesicles, paired accessory glands, and ejaculatory duct that connects with an aedeagus. Sperm are filiform, around 465 µm long, with short, fusiform nuclei (< 6 µm) and an acrosome observable only under TEM. Key synapomorphies of Heteroptera, including symmetrical mitochondrial derivatives with paracrystalline inclusions and axoneme-derivative bridges, are present. The testicular follicles had mostly late spermatids and no evident differentiation zone, which was different from previously described. These distinctive features may support the recent phylogenetic placement of Thaumastocoridae as a sister group to Pentatomomorpha.

Aim: Instrumental delivery typically describes the use of ventouse or forceps to aid vaginal delivery. They are used in 10%-15% of all vaginal deliveries and in almost a third of all primiparous deliveries. They are associated with an increased risk of maternal and neonatal injury.

Lipophilic and proteinophilic toxic organic pollutants often coexist in aquatic environments. However, the toxic effects of these two types of pollutants on aquatic organisms under chronic co-exposure are poorly understood. In this study, the effects of lipophilic pollutants (pyrene and PCB 28) on the reproductive toxicity of proteinophilic pollutants (cyromazine) to Daphnia magna over a 28-d exposure period were investigated by analyzing alterations in developmental and reproductive endpoints, bioaccumulation, and the transcriptome.

This study reproduced changes according to the central-brachial-radial blood pressure wave propagation using a cardiovascular hardware simulator. Blood pressure is a key indicator of cardiovascular health, and its importance has recently emerged, and research into the correlation between the two is in progress. This requires a large amount of clinical data, but the amount and distribution are limited.
