This study examines the impact of body appreciation on social anxiety among college students, focusing on the mediating role of social suspiciousness and the moderating role of self-congruency in the relationship between body appreciation and social suspiciousness. An analysis of data from 1161 questionnaires reveals that body appreciation is a significant negative predictor of social anxiety among college students. Furthermore, body appreciation indirectly influences social anxiety through social suspiciousness. Additionally, self-congruency significantly moderates the relationship between body appreciation and social suspiciousness. Specifically, a positive perception of one's body-appreciating its uniqueness and functionality, and positively processing and protecting body-related evaluative information-can directly reduce social anxiety. It can also indirectly reduce social anxiety by lowering social suspiciousness in interpersonal settings. Moreover, self-congruency plays a moderating role in the pathway from body appreciation to social suspiciousness. The findings of this study offer new insights into the relationship between body appreciation and social anxiety among college students. By enhancing self-congruency, the negative impact of low body appreciation on social anxiety can be lessened, providing important practical implications for developing effective interventions to address social anxiety in college students.

Objective: Using action research principles to address gaps in existing interventions, and in consultation with members and administrators of Wellspring Canada, the purpose of the current study was to adapt and examine the impact of a novel (concept, content, and inclusivity) positive body image program (Body Image Awareness Seminars; BIAS) on positive and negative body image in individuals living with cancer.
Methods: The project used a single-group pretest-posttest design with a 6-week follow-up. Over the 6-week program, 37 participants engaged in 90-min weekly group sessions consisting of researcher-led psychoeducation, group discussion, and activities grounded in positive body image research.

This proposal adds original approaches to the currently scarce body of practical evidence on the application of STEM innovations in the curriculum. A teaching-learning program was designed in a real-world context such as the game of soccer with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) approach through a cooperative problem-solving methodology. The objectives of the research focus on analyzing the effect of the use of this STEM unit on the academic performance of students, taking into account the gender variable; and their appreciation of the activities and methodology used, as well as the challenges encountered and their solutions.

Eating Disorders (EDs) in Mexicans have been associated with an elevated psychiatric comorbidity, highlighting the necessity for a reliable assessment tool. However, previous validations of the Eating Disorders Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q) in Mexico yielded diverse results regarding its underlying factor structure, leading to uncertainty and complexity in understanding its latent models. This study will evaluate multiple previously proposed EDE-Q models in a sample of 173 patients with EDs undergoing various standard-of-care programs in Monterrey, Mexico.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has become increasingly accessible, enabling their deployment in a diverse range of operational contexts. UAVs have been tested as part of search and rescue missions. Following the successful use of UAVs in the wilderness medicine literature, we questioned their ability to be used in forensic context to search for missing persons or human remains, especially under canopy cover.
