High performance adsorbents are crucial for improving the efficiency of sample pretreatment and ensuring the accuracy and precision of analytical results. In this study, covalent organic framework COF-SCU1 was modified with metal-organic framework ZIF-8 for efficient extraction of toxic basic dyes in food. The prepared COF-SCU1@ZIF-8 exhibited improved dispersibility and more surface negative charges compared to COF-SCU1, thereby showing enhanced adsorption performance for auramine O, rhodamine B, basic orange 21, basic orange 22 and methylene blue. The dispersive solid-phase extraction (D-SPE) for toxic basic dyes based on COF-SCU1@ZIF-8 consumed tiny amount of adsorbent and solvent as well as short operation time. An analytical method for the determination of toxic basic dyes was developed based on D-SPE and high-performance liquid chromatography with detection limits of 0.9-1.6 ng mL. The developed method was applied to the detection of toxic basic dyes in real food samples with recoveries of 88.20-105.83 %.

Protein stability is a crucial characteristic that influences both protein activity and structure and plays a significant role in several diseases. Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) mutations serve as a model for elucidating the destabilizing effects on protein folding and misfolding linked to the lethal neurological disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In the present study, we have examined the structure and dynamics of the SOD1 protein upon two ALS-associated point mutations at the surface (namely, E49K and R115G), which are located in metal-binding loop IV and Greek key loop VI, respectively.

Chlordiazepoxide is effective in treating alcohol withdrawal syndrome, but it poses a risk of long-term sedation. The prevalence of this side effect and its risk factors remain uncertain. This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to estimate both using data from Aarhus University Hospital's BI portal.

Background: Diseases triggered by glucose and lipid metabolic disorders, such as hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, have become a global health threat. According to statistics, diabetic patients have exceeded 463 million worldwide, and the prevalence of hyperlipidemia is also continuously rising. These glycolipid metabolic diseases not only significantly increase the risk of complications such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, and kidney disease but also impose a huge economic burden on the global healthcare system.
