Objective: Modified double-row biceps tenodesis (MDBT) has been proved to be effective in treating slap injuries, but the impact of closing the rotator cuff gap remained postoperatively (the Pulley ring repair) on the long-term shoulder function and stability has not been conclusively investigated.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 157 patients with isolated unilateral type II SLAP lesions treated with MDBT from January 2019 to January 2023. 77 patients were without the Pulley ring repair (group A) and the remaining 80 patients were with the Pulley ring repair (group B). -test, Anova, and chi-square analyses were used to compare the two groups for any statistical differences in the 37 variables. Lasso regression was used to screen and analyze the variables, assess risk, and construct a predictive assessment model.

Results: There were significant differences between the two groups at 1 year in ASES and UCLA score ( < 0.01). Risk factors screened by LASSO regression were five including Grouping information, Mean T value of bone mineral density, and 3 Months post operation's UCLA score. These statistically significant variables and their coefficients were used to build a generalized linear equation and selected to build the final model including Grouping information (OR:1.61E + 01;95% CI:5.8854-52.5200), Mean T value of bone mineral density (OR:6.95E + 00;95% CI:2.4695-25.6797) and 3 Months post operation UCLA score (OR:1.77E + 00;95% CI:1.4810-2.2539).

Conclusions: Compared with the traditional MDBT, the modified MDBT is more effective in improving the long-term function of the glenohumeral joint and better restoring the biological state of the glenohumeral joint.

: The aim of this biomechanical investigation was to evaluate a V-shaped three-point graft tenodesis technique using a free palmaris longus (PL) tendon for reconstructing traumatic A2 pulley lesions and to compare its biomechanical performance with two previously described reconstruction techniques. : After A2 pulley lesion simulation in 27 fingers (index, middle and ring finger) from nine human anatomical hand specimens, reconstructions were performed using the innovative V-shaped graft tenodesis technique, a double-loop encircling technique and a suture anchor graft fixation technique. Load at failure and the failure mechanisms were evaluated.

This paper presents design and analysis of an optical memory and counter based on ultra-compact temporal integrators (INTs) using a graphene hybrid plasmonic add-drop ring resonator (GHP-ADRR) and pulley-type ring resonator (GHP-PRR) for optical signal processing. Due to the valuable features of graphene hybrid plasmonic technology, the footprint of these INTs is equal to 4 × 3.5 µm for GHP-ADRR and 5.

The correct function of the upper limb depends on the cooperation and coordination of the muscular and skeletal systems as well as the connective tissue elements present in it. Connective tissue forms fascia, connective tissue membranes and ligaments. Connective tissue mostly develops from the mesenchyme.

Article Synopsis
  • Elastane fibers are crucial in making elastic yarn, and this research focuses on innovative methods to create hybrid yarns with dual cores.
  • A modified pulley system was developed to insert core elements alongside traditional methods during yarn production, using various materials like cotton, PBT, and elastane.
  • The results show that inserting core components side by side improves the yarn's strength, elongation, and reduces hairiness, indicating a successful new technique for producing higher quality hybrid yarns.
