Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) play a crucial role in regenerative medicine due to their regenerative potential. However, traditional MSC-based therapies are hindered by issues such as microvascular obstruction and low cell survival after transplantation. Exosomes derived from MSCs (MSC-Exo) provide a cell-free, nanoscale alternative, mitigating these risks and offering therapeutic potential for liver diseases.

Hemostatic resuscitation is a mainstay in the management of trauma patients. Factors such as blood loss and tissue injury contribute to coagulation and hemodynamic status imbalances. Hemorrhage remains a leading cause of death in trauma patients, despite advances in strategies such as damage control surgery, massive transfusion protocol, and intensive care.

A modified thoracodorsal artery lateral branch (TDAL) chimeric flap was developed using dual-energy computed tomography (CT) angiography data of perforators to explore the anatomical characteristics and postoperative outcomes of TDAL flaps in complex maxillofacial defect repair. TDAL flaps were harvested from patients with locally advanced oral cancer. Preoperative perforator detection was performed with dual-energy CT angiography.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the risk factors for severe radiation pneumonitis (RP) after thoracic radiotherapy (RT) in patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), develop a prediction model to identify high-risk groups, and investigate the impact of severe RP on overall survival (OS).
Methods: We retrospectively collected clinical, dosimetric, and hematological factors of patients with stage III NSCLC receiving thoracic RT without immunotherapy. The primary and secondary end points were severe RP and OS, respectively.

Background: Storage of hearts in ice for transportation is thought to cause post-transplantation graft dysfunction secondary to freeze injury. We studied the myocardial damage and resulting function in hearts stored at 0 °C, 4 °C and 8 °C for 4 hours.
Methods: Rat hearts were procured under general anesthesia and immediately stored in University of Wisconsin solution at 0 °C, 4 °C and 8 °C for 4 hours (n = 6-8/group).
