SARS-CoV-2-infected individuals have reported a diverse collection of persistent and often debilitating symptoms commonly referred to as long COVID or post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC). Identifying PASC and its subphenotypes is challenging because available data are "negative-unlabeled" as uninfected individuals must be PASC negative, but those with prior infection have unknown PASC status. Moreover, feature selection among many potentially informative characteristics can facilitate reaching a concise and easily interpretable PASC definition.

Prediction of protein-ligand interactions is critical for drug discovery and repositioning. Traditional prediction methods are computationally intensive and limited in modeling structural changes. In contrast, data-driven deep learning methods significantly reduce computational costs and offer a more efficient approach for drug discovery.

Importance: Expectancy effects are significant confounding factors in psychiatric randomized clinical trials (RCTs), potentially affecting the interpretation of study results. This narrative review is the first, to our knowledge, to explore the relationship between expectancy effects, compromised blinding integrity, and the effects of active treatment/placebo in psychiatric RCTs. Additionally, we present statistical and experimental approaches that may help mitigate the confounding impact of expectancy effects.

Robots are increasingly used alongside Skinner boxes to train animals in operant conditioning tasks. Similarly, animals are being employed in artificial intelligence research to train various algorithms. However, both types of experiments rely on unidirectional learning, where one partner-the animal or the robot-acts as the teacher and the other as the student.
