Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) have become pivotal in urban traffic management by utilizing traffic flow prediction, which aids in alleviating congestion and facilitating route planning. This study introduces the Linear Attention Based Spatial-Temporal Multi-Graph Convolutional Neural Network (LASTGCN), a novel deep learning model tailored for traffic flow prediction. LASTGCN incorporates a Multifactor Fusion Unit (MFF-unit) to dynamically integrate meteorological factors, an advanced multi-graph convolutional network for spatial correlations, and the Receptance Weighted Key Value (RWKV) block, which employs a linear attention mechanism for efficient processing of historical traffic data. The model achieves computational efficiency by using RWKV, which offers advantages over Transformer-based models in handling large-scale data while capturing complex dependencies. The model is designed to achieve computational efficiency, making it suitable for mid-term traffic management scenarios and potentially adaptable to real-time applications with further optimization. Experimental results using real-world highway traffic datasets indicate that LASTGCN outperforms several state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy and robustness, especially in long-term predictions. Additionally, integrating external factors such as weather conditions was found to significantly enhance the model's predictive accuracy.

Phthalates (PAEs), which are pollutants that most easily migrate from plastic packages to edible oils, have received increasing attention. In this work, a sample preconditioning method was proposed and explored, involving a single-step extraction using a methanol and ethyl hexanoate mixed solvent, followed by clean-up with a mixed absorbent of graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) and -propyl ethylenediamine (PSA), for the determination of 18 PAEs in oil samples through GC-MS/MS analysis. The triazine ring structure and conjugated aromatic heterocyclic accumulation structure of g-CN and the amino-rich structure of PSA can provide hydrogen bonds, conjugated π-π interactions, and hydrophobic effects for the removal of interferences such as organic acids, aliphatic acids, and pigments.

Centre of Physics of Minho and Porto Universities (CF-UM-UP), Laboratory for Physics of Materials and Emergent Technologies (LaPMET), University of Minho, Campus de Gualtar, 4710-057 Braga, Portugal.

In recent decades, substantial progress has been made in embedding molecules, nanocrystals, and nanograins into nanofibers, resulting in a new class of hybrid functional materials with exceptional physical properties. Among these materials, functional nanofibers exhibiting ferroelectric, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, multiferroic, and nonlinear optical characteristics have attracted considerable attention and undergone substantial improvements. This review critically examines these developments, focusing on strategies for incorporating diverse compounds into nanofibers and their impact on enhancing their physical properties, particularly ferroelectric behavior and nonlinear optical conversion.

Alpha oscillations are associated with various cognitive functions. However, the determinants of alpha power variation remain ambiguous, primarily due to its inconsistent associations with autonomic responses and subjective states under different experimental conditions. To thoroughly examine the correlations between alpha power variation and these factors, we implemented a range of experimental conditions, encompassing attentional and emotional tasks, as well as a resting-state.

Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Substance Abuse and Dependence Research Center, University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, Tehran, Iran.

Understanding speech in noisy environments is a challenging task that requires sensory and cognitive functions, including memory and auditory attention. Bilinguals and monolinguals have different scores of these abilities. This study aims to investigate the relationship between these cognitive skills and compare Turkish-Persian bilinguals with Persian monolinguals regarding speech-in-noise scores.

Does income have a non-linear impact on residents' BMI? Re-examining the obesity Kuznets curve.

BMC Public Health

March 2025

School of Economics and Management, Anhui Agricultural University, 130 Jiangxi Road, Hefei, Anhui Province, P.R. China.

Background: After more than 40 years of growth, the income of Chinese residents has greatly increased; however, the problems of overweight and obesity among residents have become increasingly prominent.

Methods: We used data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) to study the relationship between residents' income and obesity using the instrumental variable (IV) method.

Results: The impact of income on residents' body mass index (BMI) is an inverted U-shape; that is, when income is low, BMI significantly rises with income, and when per capita income exceeds 57,066 yuan in 2023 prices (equivalent to 8,098 dollars), further increases in income will lead to a decrease in BMI.
