A ratiometric electrochemical sensor based on Cu@Ni/MWCNTs for detection of chloramphenicol.

Mikrochim Acta

March 2025

College of Biological and Chemical Engineering, Qilu Institute of Technology, Jinan, 250200, Shandong Province, PR China.

A signal tag was successfully designed by means of two-step reduction approach, in which CuNi nanoparticles (CuNi NPs) uniformly distributed on the surface of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). This composites not only inherits excellent conductivity and surface area of MWCNTs, but also endows the material with superior electrocatalytic performance due to the introduction of CuNi NPs. Then, a ratiometric sensing platform coupled with built-in correction ability for convenient direct determination of chloramphenicol (CAP) was exploited, wherein Cu@Ni/MWCNTs were used as signal label and ferrocene (Fc) as internal reference.

Heatwaves, characterized by prolonged high temperatures, have become a recurrent and severe phenomenon in Bangladesh, posing significant risks to public health, agriculture, and socioeconomic stability. This study analyzed the characterization and long-term projections of heatwave patterns in Bangladesh's western and northwestern climatic zones, addressing a critical gap in understanding regional vulnerabilities to extreme temperature events. Heatwave thresholds were defined using the Bangladesh Meteorological Department Criterion, a percentile-based criterion, and the Indian Meteorological Department Criterion, providing a comprehensive framework for assessing heatwave intensity and frequency.

Context: The HCCCH radical plays a crucial role in combustion chemistry, astrophysical processes, and the formation of complex organic molecules, serving as a key intermediate in the synthesis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and soot precursors. The reactions of HCCCH with small species are significant for understanding the mechanisms of hydrocarbon transformation in combustion, atmospheric chemistry, and interstellar environments. In the present study, the mechanism and kinetics of the H + HCCCH have been thoroughly characterized.

Concurrent Control of Sodium and Bicarbonate Serum Concentrations Using a Four-Stream Hemodialysis Fluid Delivery System.

Hemodial Int

March 2025

Research Service, Department of Medicine, Raymond G. Murphy Veterans Affairs Medical Center, University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.

Background: Previously, two reports proposed a four-stream dialysis fluid delivery system consisting of an acid concentrate, a base concentrate, a sodium chloride concentrate, and product water for correcting dysnatremias and metabolic acid-base disorders separately, by hemodialysis.

Methods: This report describes a new method for the clinical use of the previously reported four-stream dialysis fluid delivery system to treat concurrently dysnatremias and metabolic acid-base disturbances by hemodialysis. Pumps attached to each concentrate are designed to control its flow rate.
