Hypertrophic scar (HS) is a plaque fibrous and indurated dermal lesion that may cause physical, psychological, and cosmetic challenges for patients. Intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) is commonly used in clinical practice, which cause unbearable pain and uneven drug delivery within HS tissue. Herein, we developed a paper battery powered iontophoresis-driven microneedles patch (PBIMNP) for self-management of HS. The high integration of PBIMNP was achieved by incorporating a paper battery as the power source for iontophoresis. The transdermal drug delivery strategy of PBIMNP combined microneedles and iontophoresis techniques, involving "pressing and poking, phase transformation, and diffusion and iontophoresis", which can actively deliver 90.19% drug into the HS tissue with excellent in vitro drug permeation performance. PBIMNP administration effectively reduced the mRNA and protein levels, leading to a decrease in the expression of TGF-β1 and Col I associated with HS formation, demonstrating its efficacy in HS treatment. The microneedles and wearable design endow the PBIMNP as a highly promising platform for self-administration on HS treatment.

Introduction: The ever-growing diffusion of video games (VG) prompts to investigate their effects on health. While different studies exist on the topic, their results are difficult to interpret, probably because modulating factors have been mostly neglected. Here, we explore VG type and gamers' experience levels by assessing the impact of a violent VG on sleep, cognitive functioning, and psychological well-being in a sample of non-gamers.

Dendritic donor engineering to optimize second near-infrared photothermal agents for in situ photothermal therapy.

Small organic photothermal agents (PTAs) with dual photothermal and imaging functions in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window present a promising strategy for deep tumor treatment, however, fluorescence quenching conventional PTAs and low photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) present obstacles to their widespread application. In this study, a novel "dendritic donor engineering" strategy was employed to design NIR-II organic PTAs (named DCTBBT and TCTBBT) with donor-π-acceptor-π-donor features and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) activity. Owing to the fine-tuning of the dendritic donors, the close co-facial packing of the central π-backbone was disrupted, effectively avoiding fluorescence quenching caused by π-π aggregation, which facilitated molecule-free motions in aggregate state, and as a result, the DCTBBT nanoparticles (NPs) demonstrated a PCE of 59.

Inhibition of demetalation due to electrochemical dissolution of metal active centers is a major challenge for the real-world commercialization of transition metals and nitrogen co-doped carbon (MNC) material catalysts. This research utilized a microchannel reactor to synthesize zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@zeolitic imidazolate framework-67, resulting in a CoZn/ZnNC material produced through a core-shell pyrolysis strategy. Direct synergistic interaction of CoZn alloy nanoparticles and ZnNC improves the activity and durability of the oxygen reduction reaction.

With the rapid development of the new energy industry, the wastewater discharged from battery production industries has increased significantly, in which N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP) have aroused widespread attention. It is valuable to develop low-cost biological methods for NMP containing wastewater treatment. In this study, an NMP-driven PD system was acclimated in an sequencing batch reactor (SBR) by gradually replacing the sodium acetate with NMP.

Tyrosine (Tyr) has gained significant attention as one of the most sensitive amino acids. Its oxidation is accompanied by changes in hydrogen bonds, so the oxidation process of Tyr is monitored and the dissociation sequence of different hydrogen bond network is elucidated based on the sensitivity of terahertz (THz) waves to intermolecular interactions. We find that the peak height of Tyr at 0.
