Purpose: Children and adolescents experiencing psychiatric crises often undergo inpatient treatment, which may limit family involvement, stigmatize young individuals, and impede the application of therapeutic outcomes in their daily lives. This situation can result in increased rates of rehospitalization, the development of chronic conditions, and prolonged hospital stays. Home-based treatment represents a potential alternative to traditional inpatient care. The objective of the planned systematic review is to provide a comprehensive comparison of the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of inpatient and home-based treatment modalities, with a particular focus on primary outcome parameters such as psychopathology, family functioning, and social functioning. Furthermore, secondary outcomes, including rates of relapses and rehospitalizations, will be evaluated.

Methods: The systematic search will be conducted using Medline, Embase, PsycInfo and Cochrane databases, following the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The included studies will undergo a rigorous quality assessment using the Cochrane Risk of Bias (RoB2) tool for randomized trials and the Risk of Bias in Non-randomized Studies - of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool for non-randomized studies. Where appropriate, data will be synthesized by meta-analysis using R-Studio and supplemented by sensitivity analyses to assess the robustness of the results. The overall quality of the evidence is assessed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) framework.

Discussion: The planned systematic literature review will provide a synthesis of the current state of research on the comparative effectiveness of both treatment modalities. The objective is to furnish information for the delivery of effective patient care that also represents a cost-efficient solution for the healthcare system.

Systematic Review Registration: This review protocol has been registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) under the registration number CRD42023458888.

Purpose: To describe patients with hormone receptor positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative metastatic breast cancer (HR+/HER2- mBC) in Italy for demographic and clinical variables, comorbidity profile, metastases and therapeutic pathways.

Patients And Methods: From 2017 to 2021, HR+/HER2- mBC patients were extrapolated from administrative databases of healthcare entities covering a catchment area of about 3 million health-assisted women. The study included patients with a hospital discharge diagnosis for mBC; with specific prescriptions of therapies for HR+; without HER2-targeted therapy; with at least one prescription for CDK4/6 inhibitors.

Background: The Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) index providing a standardized reference point, PET enables non-experts to better understand and assess the physiological implications of varying environmental temperatures and thermal comfort levels across different settings. We aimed to evaluate the relationships between the PET Index and Hospitalized due to Respiratory Diseases (RD) and Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) in Dezful city.

Method: Hospital admissions, climate variables and environmental pollution data (PM, PM) of Dezful city were collected from 2014 to 2019.

Context: European and German consensus guidelines advocate preoperative therapy with α-adrenoreceptor antagonists in symptomatic patients with catecholamine-producing pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) to avoid hypertensive crisis during adrenalectomy. This practice has been questioned recently.

Objective: This work aimed to assess current preoperative management of PPGLs across disciplines.

Chronic Foley catheter use significantly increases the risk of scrotal abscesses, particularly in patients with comorbidities that impair immune function, such as diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). We report a case of a 56-year-old male with type II diabetes, CKD, and a chronic indwelling Foley catheter who presented with progressive scrotal swelling and pain. Cultures identified and from both urine and abscess fluid, confirming a possible urinary tract infection (UTI) as the source of scrotal abscess.

Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic autoinflammatory disorder that can present with fever, arthritis, and systemic inflammation, often complicating underlying chronic conditions. This report describes the case of a 71-year-old male patient with chronic kidney disease-related renal anemia and pseudogout (calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease (CPPD)) treated on an outpatient basis. The patient presented to our hospital with rectal bleeding lasting for two to three weeks, leading to the identification of rapidly progressing anemia through blood tests.
