Cancer remains a significant global health challenge, driving the search for innovative treatments. Photothermal therapy (PTT) has emerged as a promising approach, using photothermal agents to convert near-infrared (NIR) light into heat for tumor ablation. Among these agents, nano-molybdenum oxide, particularly non-stoichiometric MoO (0 < x < 1), stands out due to its unique defect structure, strong NIR absorption, high photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE), and pH-responsive degradation. This review summarized recent advancements in nano-molybdenum oxide for PTT, covering its classification, synthesis, surface modification, and tumor-targeting mechanisms. Subsequently, we explored its applications in PTT and combination therapies, evaluated biocompatibility and toxicity, and discussed current achievements, challenges, and future perspectives in cancer treatment.

Molybdenum (Mo) plays a pivotal role in the growth and nitrogen-fixing process of plants mediated by rhizobia. However, the influence of nano‑molybdenum trioxide (MoONPs) on soybean growth, rhizosphere bioavailable Mo, and nitrogen-fixing microorganisms remains underexplored. Here, we report that compared with that of ionic Mo and bulk MoO, the utilization of MoONPs (specifically NPs0.

Herein, a graphene-nano-molybdenum disulphide (pGr-MoS), synthesized from pulverized graphite and using precursors of MoS, was investigated for the electrochemical sensing of dihydroxy benzene isomers (DHBI): hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CA), and resorcinol (RE). Interestingly, the material could sense the three isomers simultaneously, with well-defined peaks and an adequate potential difference between each peak. The detection limits (3 method) of HQ, CA, and RE on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with pGr-MoS are 10, 10, and 10 M (, 0.

To investigate the effects of nano-ammonium octamolybdate (nano-Mo) and Macleaya cordata extracts (MCE) on antioxidant capacity of grazing Nanjiang brown goats on natural prairies under Cu and Cd stress, a 2 × 2 factorial design was adopted in this test, and two factors were nano-Mo (0, 10 mg/kg) and MCE (0, 3000 mg/kg). 24 hm polluted grassland was used in this 30-day trial and was equally divided into twelve fenced units. A total of 36 Nanjiang brown goats (1 year old) with an average body weight (BW) of 40.
