This study estimated changes in postpartum depression (PPD) diagnoses after in states with trigger laws vs those without. Medicaid data from Kythera Labs spanning December 2019 to June 2024 were utilized.

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn the federal right to abortion, much public and political debate has surrounded gestating and in vitro embryos' "personhood." In this paper, I draw on 15 months of participant observation in biomedical spaces of infertility to reveal how embryos can be enacted as not only unborn children but as many different kinds of entities. I examine how embryos become "multiple" as in vitro fertilization (IVF) professionals inseminate, monitor, and transfer them into patients' bodies: enacting them as makeable, contingent, recordable, animatable, predictable, introducible, praisable, and appraisable entities.

Objective: To determine if the use of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) increased after the Dobbs decision leak on May 2, 2022, and after the Dobbs final ruling on June 24, 2022, compared with before the Dobbs decision.

Design: Retrospective cohort study.

Subjects: Patients who underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) within a large fertility network geographically distributed across six states from June 2021 through June 2023.
