Introduction: Color stability is one of the important criteria for the selection of composite during its service. Preheating of composite is performed to improve its handling characteristics. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of preheating in two nanohybrid composite resins.
Material And Methods: Sixty disk samples were prepared and divided into 2 main groups according to the temperature of preparation (n = 30). Both the groups were subdivided into Group 1A - Kulzer Charisma Diamond (N = 15) and Group 1B - Tetric N-Ceram (N = 15). Al: the sample discs were further immersed in testing solutions of tea, coffee, and distilled water (N = 5) for each group.
Results: We observed significantly lower color change in the preheated group as compared to room temperature and also comparable color change in both the types of composites used.
Conclusion: It was thus concluded that preheating composites could be effective in maintaining color stability in nanohybrid composite resins.

Objectives: This in vitro study evaluated the effects of simulated toothbrushing on surface roughness, gloss, and color stability of milled and printed resin-based and lithium disilicate materials for permanent dental restorations.
Materials And Methods: Five materials were tested, including CAD/CAM prepolymerized resin blocks, a ceramic material, a resin composite and a newly FDA-cleared 3D-printed resin for permanent crowns. Specimens underwent a controlled brushing protocol simulating 5 years of brushing (50,000 cycles).

Calcium carbide (CaC) is generally used as an artificial ripening agent in the agricultural and food sectors but has been prohibited due to its negative impacts on the environment and human. Therefore, in the present study, a novel and cost-effective detection technique was developed for the detection of CaC using L-cysteine functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). In this work, a rapid, simple, environment friendly and portable colorimetric nanosensing assay was developed using two different sizes of L-cysteine functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNP and AuNP).

Today, water quality monitoring is crucial due to the health and environmental consequences of water pollution. Recently, various attempts have been made to construct rapid, sensitive, and selective heavy metal ion sensors. Fluorescent sensors are popular owing to their high specificity, sensitivity, and reversibility.

The phosphorylation of nucleic acids mediated by 5'-polynucleotide kinase (PNK) exerts a crucial regulatory function in a wide range of significant cellular activities. Nevertheless, the current approaches for detecting PNK require expensive labeled probes and complex instrumentation, making it impossible to achieve real-time, on-site, and rapid analysis. Here, we take T4 PNK as a model and establish a novel colorimetric strategy for the detection of PNK activity and its inhibition by means of a coupled enzyme-assisted cyclic strand displacement amplification (SDA) and peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-gold nanoparticle (AuNP) based platform.

Introduction: Maxillofacial prostheses used in rehabilitation of patients are fabricated with medical grade silicone and are tinted corresponding to the patients natural skin color. However, exposure to environment and disinfectants can affect the color stability. Due to rising microorganism resistance and fewer adverse effects of chemical agents, phytoextracts appear to be a viable option.
