Introduction: One of most important nosocomial infections, Catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) are caused by many biofilms forming organism which makes treatment challenges as well as resistant strain development. To prevent the CAUTI, the new antimicrobials are needed immediately.
Methodology: The overnight grown cultures such as , , and were grown in Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) broth, Mueller Hinton Broth (MHB), and Sabouraud Dextrose Broth (SDB). Ampicillin, rifampicin, and nystatin were used in all the experiments as positive controls and also, methanol was used as vehicle control.
Results: The leaf extract showed antimicrobial activity at 2 mg/ml against and 1 mg/ml against and . Further, crystal violet staining revealed, antibiofilm activity through biofilm inhibition and also, it was efficiently eliminated 77%, 73%, and 78% of , and mature biofilms individually. Later, catheter coating with leaf extract explored strong antimicrobial activity against tested pathogens in in vitro bladder model. In addition, leaf extract expressed strong antioxidant property.
Conclusion: can be considered as alternative antimicrobial agent for CAUTI treatment.

This study evaluates the adsorption capabilities of leaf extract residue for removing Crystal Violet (CV) dye from aqueous solutions. Fourier Transform Infrared analysis revealed diverse functional groups contributing to the material's hydrophilic nature and adsorption potential. Scanning electron microscopy images confirmed a porous, fibrous structure that transformed post-adsorption, indicating successful dye uptake.

Background: The development of new drugs that act against multidrug-resistant microorganisms and malignant tumors is necessary owing to the limited therapeutic options and high mortality rates associated with these pathologies. In this study, we evaluated the phytochemical groups present in seven plants from the Brazilian Cerrado even as their antioxidant, antiproliferative and antimicrobial activities.
Methods: The extracts were obtained by the maceration technique and secondary metabolites were determined by phytochemical analysis.

Objectives: Colorectal cancer and gastric cancer are one of the most prevalent types of cancer and are leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide. The chemotherapy is insufficient due to the poor targeting and affinity of drugs, low therapeutic effectiveness, and significant side effects. Consequently, developing effective therapeutic formulations is crucial for treating colorectal and gastric cancers.

Kalanchoe species products are commercially available in local markets and by internationally accessible online retailers and may exhibit quality issues because of misidentification from similar common names and anatomical similarities among related species used as feedstock. This study proposes an approach using UPLC-MS/MS and HPTLC, coupled with morphoanatomical analysis to establish chemical composition pattern data for five Kalanchoe species. Subsequently, the methods were validated by analyzing commercial products purported to contain 100% Kalanchoe extract.
