Introduction: Mandibular angle fractures (MAFs) are divisive and have led to debate in terms of treatment. The study evaluated the new angled miniplate (banana plate) with the conventional miniplate for management of MAFs.
Patients And Methods: The study included 53 patients of MAFs, 26 treated with the conventional miniplate (control group) and 27 with the angled miniplate (study group). The patients were followed up and evaluated for 6 months for mouth opening, bite force, and complications.
Results: A longer operating time was noted in the study group. The mouth opening and bite force were higher in the study group with fewer postoperative complications.
Conclusion: The new angled miniplate mimics the angle of the mandible and offers better tridimensional stability, fewer complications, and improved stability.

Background: Skeletal Class III patients can be treated with bone anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP) treatment. The placement of miniplates is an invasive operation and needs to be carried out under general anesthesia.
Aim: The aim of this retrospective study was to determine the failure rate of miniplates.

Backgrounds: The treatment of complex distal radius fractures, particularly those involving both intra-articular disruption and significant metaphyseal comminution, remains a considerable surgical challenge. While volar locking plates have become a widely accepted standard for stabilizing these fractures, alone they may not address all fracture patterns. This study presents a surgical approach that incorporates the use of a mini-plate to provide targeted support for the metaphyseal region.

This study investigated the relationship between condylar position, condylar volume, and mandibular relapse following orthognathic surgery in which the proximal segments were temporarily fixed with a positioning device to maintain the condylar position. Computed tomography data (pre-surgery, immediately post-surgery, and 1 year post-surgery) from 12 patients with Class II malocclusion and 20 with Class III were analysed. Condylar volume was significantly lower in Class II patients than in Class III patients at all time-points (P < 0.

Objective: To evaluate and compare the skeletal and dental treatment effects of Class II malocclusion cases using skeletally anchored Forsus (miniscrew-anchored FRD or miniplate-anchored FRD), with conventional Forsus FRD.
Materials And Methods: Unrestricted electronic search of six databases and additional manual searches were performed up to July 2023. Randomized controlled trials having one treatment arm with skeletal anchored Forsus FRD in treatment of Class II malocclusion and another matched treatment group treated with conventional Forsus FRD were included in this review.
