In this research, we explore the role of civic engagement platforms as tools designed to connect various groups in rural areas for collaborative advancement and to support sustainable growth in their communities. We examine these platforms' essential features and influence on rural communities, conducting an overview to identify rural areas' primary challenges and the functionalities needed to address them. Our findings reveal that the long-term capability of these civic engagement platforms can bring beneficial changes in rural territories by offering a unified way of communication, collaboration, and decision-making. The study concludes with suggestions for future research.

This study examines how social media platforms shape drug policy advocacy by analyzing stakeholder engagement surrounding supervised consumption sites in New York City. While research has explored organizational use of social media for advocacy, less attention has focused on patterns of civic engagement and dialogue. Analyzing messages and comments from two opposing organizations-OnPoint NYC and Harlem East Block Association-over 24 months (2022-2023), we investigate whether social media-based drug policy advocacy creates public spheres for diverse dialogue or echo chambers of like-minded individuals.

Policies to implement climate-forcing pollution emission reductions have often been stymied by economic and political divisiveness. However, certain uncontested nonregret public health policies that also carry climate-forcing cobenefits with them could provide more achievable policy pathways to accelerate the implementation of climate mitigation. An International Society for Environmental Epidemiology Policy Committee endorsed pre-28th Conference of the Parties climate meeting workshop brought together experts on environment, diet, civic planning, and health to review current understanding of public health policy approaches that provide climate change mitigation cobenefits by also reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Background: Despite the growing evidence on the modifiable and genetic factors associated with cognitive health, little is known about the role of the apolipoprotein E () gene ε4 allele in the associations between productive or leisure activities and cognitive health.
Objective: This study fills a gap of knowledge by examining the associations among employment, civic engagement, and leisure activities and cognitive health by the presence of ε4 allele, an established risk factor of Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Methods: Using pooled data from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) Psychosocial and Lifestyle Questionnaires (2010-2016) and the HRS data on ε4 alleles, linear regression models with a lagged dependent variable were performed to examine associations between productive or leisure activities and cognitive functioning at the follow-up time point, as well as the role of ε4 in these associations.
