Perovskite oxides like barium titanate (BaTiO) exhibit desirable properties: notably high dielectric constants, piezoelectricity, and ferroelectricity, thereby enabling more advanced electronic devices and actuators. There are numerous synthesis procedures for BaTiO, among which, nanoparticle syntheses are versatile and well-studied. However, colloidal organometallic synthesis is less commonly employed for this material despite offering processing advantages like facile compositional control and customizable surface chemistry. Here, an organometallic synthesis route is explored to produce colloidally stable BaTiO nanoparticles with oleyl alkoxide ligands. Subsequently, we further develop ligand exchange procedures with X-type ligands using KOH and oxalic acid to produce colloidal inks applicable for solution-processed nanocrystalline films for dielectrics in devices for which there is still a need for better nanoscale control. The BaTiO nanoparticles and films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM), and density functional theory (DFT), to understand their properties and to develop processes for device applications.

Cobalt-Catalyzed Remote Site-Selective Hydroboration of Unactivated Alkenes via Chain-Walking Strategy.

An expedient synthesis of α-aminoboronic acid derivatives via cobalt-catalyzed remote site-selective hydroboration of unactivated alkenes is described herein. The strategy is characterized by its simplicity, site-selectivity, and wide substrate scope, as both terminal and internal alkenes could undergo the reaction smoothly, affording the corresponding products in good yields. According to the mechanism, Co-H is generated from Co(acac) in the presence of HBpin, which starts the chain-walking strategy via a series of alkene insertion and β-H elimination process.

Two-Dimensional Heteropore Covalent Organic Frameworks: From Construction to Functions.

Acc Chem Res

March 2025

State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 345 Lingling Road, Shanghai 200032, China.

ConspectusCovalent organic frameworks (COFs) represent a fascinating class of crystalline porous polymers constructed from organic building blocks linked by covalent bonds. Benefiting from their high crystallinity, large surface area, and ease of functionalization, COFs have demonstrated significant potential across various fields, including gas adsorption, luminescence, sensing, catalysis, energy storage, nanomedicine, etc. In the first decade of COF development, only those with homogeneous porosity have been constructed, and thus, their topological structures are quite limited.

The synthesis of enantiopure and structurally unique spiro-type molecules is of utmost significance in catalysis, synthetic chemistry, and related fields. We present here a general solution, a nickel-catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition, for accessing enantioenriched spiropyridines from readily available nitriles and alkynes in a single synthetic step, including (1) enantio-relay double [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition of malononitriles with alkynes and (2) kinetic resolution [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition of racemic pyridine-containing nitriles with alkynes. Both strategies feature a broad substrate scope and exclusive regioselectivities, and are scalable to multigram.

We report the synthesis of a luminescent Pt(II) complex, , based on a "two-wall" aryl-extended calix[4]pyrrole (C[4]P). We characterize its binding properties as a receptor of methyl trioctyl ammonium chloride () in a dichloromethane solution. To this end, we performed H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopic titrations.
