Introduction: The research is focused on the reliability of Intraoperative Frozen Section Analysis (IFSA) to detect positive margins during surgical extirpation of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC).

Material And Methods: Seventy-eight patients who were surgically treated for OSCC in Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital between 2019 and 2023 were included in the study. For all patients IFSA was performed during the surgery and, after the surgery, every sample underwent a complete histological analysis. Data regarding localization, T, N, TNM stage, cervical and local recurrence were collected and studied in relation to IFSA status and surgical margins.

Results: 25 patients out of 78 resulted as "false negatives", pointing out a sensitivity of 13,8 % and a specificity of 100 %; a statistical significant relation emerged regarding tumor dimension (T) and TNM in relation to IFSA and surgical margins, highlighting that reliability of IFSA decreases for advanced stage OSCC.

Discussion: IFSA represents an interesting technique to assess margin status during surgical extirpation of OSCC mainly in early stages; an accurate planning of an extended surgical margin, above all in advanced stages, could improve the control of the tumor. Further multicenter studies are needed to clarify the reliability of this technique.

Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) with a primitive neuronal component (PNC) is a recently characterized subtype with a characteristic (epi-)genetic profile and ambiguous microscopic features mimicking a metastasis, making intraoperative diagnosis challenging.

Observations: A 62-year-old female presented with word-finding difficulties. MRI showed 2 contrast-enhancing lesions in the temporal lobe.

Introduction: Pediatric eyelid masses pose a diagnostic challenge, with overlapping presentations between infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic etiologies. Subcutaneous pyogenic granulomas (SPG), a rare variant, can mimic malignant tumors such as soft tissue sarcomas, leading to potential delays in appropriate management. This case report details the surgical resection of a rapidly growing pediatric eyelid subcutaneous mass, ultimately diagnosed as a subcutaneous pyogenic granuloma with histologic variation.

Ectopic mediastinal parathyroid adenoma is rare and is generally managed by surgical resection as a definitive treatment. Intraoperative parathyroid hormone (ioPTH) monitoring is valuable for ensuring the complete removal of a target lesion. However, there is no consensus criteria regarding the utilization of ioPTH for complete resection in patients with ectopic mediastinal parathyroid adenomas.

Objective: Although retransplantation is the main therapeutic option for end-stage chronic lung allograft dysfunction, several transplant centers consider the "restrictive allograft syndrome" phenotype a contraindication. This selection policy is based on a limited body of literature. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of chronic lung allograft dysfunction phenotypes according to new chronic lung allograft dysfunction definitions with outcomes after retransplantation.

Para-testicular fibrous pseudotumors (PFP) are rare benign reactive lesions comprising of 6 % of para-testicular masses. Often misdiagnosed as malignant due to clinical and radiological overlap, they are frequently treated with aggressive surgery. We report a case of a 70-year-old male with a left inguinal swelling diagnosed post-orchidectomy as PFP.
