Detecting suppression is important for monitoring change in and determining surgical timing for intermittent exotropia. Here, we evaluate the results of a prospective, cross-sectional study of the "polarized glasses dissociation test" for detection of suppression. A positive result was defined as constant deviation of one eye at 6 m when viewing at distance with polarized glasses. The sensitivity of the test for suppression as assessed using a vectograph was 100%, specificity 95%, positive predictive value 97% and negative predictive value 100%. Due to its simplicity and accuracy, polarized glasses dissociation test could be an alternative to other suppression tests and can be applied to a wide range of age groups.

Linking-site engineering, used to graft two or more monomers, is crucial for achieving high-performance Y-series giant molecule acceptors (Y-GMAs). However, the reported Y-GMAs all use a single-typed linking site, making it difficult to finely-tune their optoelectronic properties. Herein, we develop a non-fully conjugated Y-GMA (named 2Y-we), with hybrid linking sites at the wing and end-group of monomers, to combine the respective advantages of the wing and end-group site linked counterparts.

Self-assembled organosilane monolayers on silica surfaces find many applications; however, their structural characterization is challenging. We found that organic molecules in these monolayers can be dissociated from the surface by cleaving C-Si bonds under mild conditions of Fleming-Tamao oxidation. Once removed from the surface, the monolayer molecules could be isolated, purified, and analyzed in solution using conventional analytical techniques including NMR and GC-MS.

Purpose: For the diagnosis of various diseases, simultaneous sensitive detection of multiple biomarkers using low sample volumes is needed. The purpose of the present research was to develop sensitive multiplex detection model of QD-based ELISA (QLISA), through the spectroscopic QD-analyte complex measurements in microvolume liquid droplets on a glass microslide.

Methods: QLISA was used for the detection of cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) and human growth hormone (hGH) as model analytes.

The hydrogen spillover phenomenon provides an expeditious reaction pathway via hydrogen transfer from a strong H adsorption site to a weak H adsorption site, enabling a cost-efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) analogous to platinum with moderate H adsorption energy. Here, a high-entropy oxychalcogenide (HEOC) comprising Co, Ni, Mo, W, O, Se, and Te is prepared by a two-step electrochemical deposition for hydrogen spillover-enhanced HER in acidic and alkaline water electrolysis. The anodic-cathodic reversal current enables the co-deposition of cations and aliovalent anions, facilitating a glass structure with multiple active sites for hydrogen spillover.
