Following the publication of the above paper, it was drawn to the Editor's attention by a concerned reader that certain of the JNK and phosphorylated (pho)‑JNK western blotting data shown in Fig. 8 on p. 7 were strikingly similar to data featured in a pair of other articles written by different authors at different research institutes, one of which (submitted to the journal ) has been subsequently retracted, whereas the other (submitted to the journal Renal Failure) was received at that journal prior to the receipt of the above article at International Journal of Molecular Medicine. In view of the fact that the abovementioned data had already apparently been submitted elsewhere prior to the receipt of this paper at , the Editor has decided that this paper should be retracted from the Journal. The authors were asked for an explanation to account for these concerns, but the Editorial Office did not receive a reply. The Editor apologizes to the readership for any inconvenience caused. Introduction: Previous studies investigating socioeconomic status and tobacco consumption during the COVID-19 pandemic were survey-based. To extend knowledge beyond prevalence rates and trends of tobacco consumption, qualitative research is needed to identify individual's experiences. There is a critical gap within this context, particularly in low-middle income countries.

Background Tricuspid valve regurgitation is frequently overlooked by cardiologists and cardiac surgeons alike; consequently, the tricuspid valve is often referred to as "the forgotten" valve. It is the most common complication of left heart valve disease. Ring annuloplasty and suture (De Vega) annuloplasty represent two common surgical treatment techniques.

Background And Objective: For treating community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in adults, early switching from injectable to oral antimicrobials (switch therapy) is accepted once the clinical course is favorable. Lascufloxacin (LSFX) is a quinolone antibacterial agent, available in intravenous and oral formulations, demonstrating antibacterial activity against a relatively broad spectrum of community-onset pneumonia (COP). No switch therapy using the same drug from injectable to oral antimicrobials has been reported; therefore, we conducted the study to confirm the efficacy and safety of the switch therapy using LSFX.

Objective: This study aimed to observe changes in serum glucose levels following the administration of 50 mL of 50% dextrose solution (D50) in hypoglycemic patients. Specifically, we seek to determine the prevalence of rebound hyperglycemia episodes, the peak effect, and the duration of action of a single dose of 50 mL D50.

Method: This prospective observational study was conducted at four emergency departments (two tertiary care hospitals and two secondary care hospitals) in Oman over a three-year period, from May 1, 2019, to April 30, 2022.

Locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) is common in countries where organized screening is not effective. Although neoadjuvant therapy increases resectability, many patients undergo mastectomy and, in some cases, flaps are necessary for primary closure of the chest wall. Despite a worse prognosis, some of these women will achieve long-term survival and may require breast reconstruction.
