Objective: To study clinical and immunological relationships in patients with early schizophrenia during remission.
Material And Methods: Forty-eight patients (53% females and 47% males) were examined at the initial stage of schizophrenia during remission (age 28.3±5.8 years). The duration of the disease was 2.7±1.3 years. The control group consisted of healthy males and females aged 18 to 30 years. The study used clinical-psychopathological and laboratory methods, as well as scale assessment.
Results: In patients with early schizophrenia in remission, in 70% of cases, there was an increase in blood levels of cytokines IL-6, IL-9, IL-10, IL-13, IL-22, TNF-α, CCL20/MIP3α (<0.001) compared to the control group. Levels of IL-4 (=0.45; =0.023) and IL-9 (=0.48; =0.014) correlated with disease duration. The PANSS composite index correlated with IL-6 levels (=0.46; =0.022). Levels of several pro-inflammatory blood cytokines were significantly higher in patients treated with first-generation antipsychotics compared with patients treated with second-generation antipsychotics (<0.001).
Conclusion: Changes in the concentrations of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory interleukins, which are involved in the development of a nonspecific immune response as part of the systemic inflammatory response in patients with early schizophrenia during remission, have been demonstrated. The results suggest that in patients with the first episode of schizophrenia, the activation of immune inflammation plays a significant role in the development of the disease. Over time, such activation may stabilize and is associated with a greater severity of psychopathological symptoms.

Background: Processing data from electronic health records (EHRs) to build research-grade databases is a lengthy and expensive process. Modern arthroplasty practice commonly uses multiple sites of care, including clinics and ambulatory care centers. However, most private data systems prevent obtaining usable insights for clinical practice.

Mediterranean spotted fever has recently been reported in Iran, yet it continues to be overlooked by healthcare professionals in the country. This case report details a 19-month-old child who presented with fever, edema and skin rashes and was initially misdiagnosed. Subsequent testing revealed a Mediterranean spotted fever infection through IgG seroconversion.

This article aims to present evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic measures for the first 14 days after injury to minimize neural damage, prevent complications, and preserve functioning as much as possible.
Methods: After the formulation of key questions, systematic literature searches were carried out on multiple topics.

Objectives: To assess the prognostic impact of adequate lymphadenectomy and determine the optimal nodal assessment for different clinical stages of lung cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 1214 patients with clinical stage I-III non-small cell lung cancer who had preoperative PET/CT and curative surgery (2006-2017). Patients were categorized based on whether they had adequate [R0] or inadequate lymphadenectomy [R(un)].

The CD2-depleting drug alefacept (LFA3-Ig) preserved beta cell function in new-onset type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients. The most promising biomarkers of response were late expansion of exhausted CD8 T cells and rare baseline inflammatory islet-reactive CD4 T cells, neither of which can be used to measure responses to drug in the weeks after treatment. Thus, we investigated whether early changes in T cell immunophenotypes could serve as biomarkers of drug activity.
