Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a pathological angiogenic process observed in various fundus diseases, including choroidal nevi. This article reviews key information on the pathogenesis of CNV associated with choroidal nevi, examines diagnostic methods using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A), including modern classifications and criteria for assessing disease activity. The article also discusses approaches to the differential diagnosis of nevi combined with neovascular age-related macular degeneration, progressive nevi, and melanomas, and analyzes the features of treatment with antiangiogenic agents and their effects on pigmented choroidal lesions.

Precis: In this prospective multicenter study, eyes with primary congenital glaucoma exhibited lower retinal vascular parameters compared to healthy controls, as assessed by optical coherence tomography angiography fractal dimension analysis.

Purpose: To study the retino-choroidal peripapillary microvascular pattern in primary congenital glaucoma (PCG) using fractal dimension (FD) analysis and compare it to healthy controls.

Methods: This was a prospective multicenter comparative study.

Purpose: To evaluate the peripapillary area in eyes of patients with Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (iNPH) before and after shunt surgery.

Methods: Twenty iNPH patients were prospectively recruited. Enhance depth imaging-optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) was performed to image the peripapillary region.

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) plays a crucial role in maintaining brain homeostasis by facilitating the clearance of metabolic waste and regulating intracranial pressure. Dysregulation of CSF flow can lead to conditions like syringomyelia, and hydrocephalus. This review details the anatomy of CSF flow, examining its contribution to waste clearance within the brain and spinal cord.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), a leading cause of blindness in premature infants, is characterized by retinal vaso-obliteration during hyperoxia and pathological neovascularization (NV) in relative hypoxia phase. Current treatments, which focus on the late stages of pathological neovascularization, are associated with numerous side effects. Studies demonstrated that discoidin domain receptor 2 (DDR2), a collagen-binding receptor tyrosine kinase, inhibits the experimental choroidal neovascularization and participates in tumor angiogenesis.
