Sufficient boron (B) can reduce cadmium (Cd) accumulation in crops; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Ultrastructural analysis and single-cell RNA sequencing were used to investigate the changes of the Casparian strip of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) root tips exposed to Cd under different B supplements, lignin formation-related gene expression and regulation in the endodermis to deeper understand the molecular mechanisms by which B inhibits root Cd uptake.

Heat is a critical environmental stress for plant survival. One of its harmful effects on the cells is the disruption of genome integrity. However, the mechanisms by which plants cope with heat-induced DNA damage remain largely unknown.

The possibility of coherent manipulation of optical and thermal energies in noble metal nanostructures has given birth to an enduring research arena coined by thermoplasmonics. Upon interaction with electromagnetic radiation, the energy of the produced hot electrons in metallic nanostructures is converted into heat and is transferred to the medium as a consequence of numerous relaxation processes. Gold nanorods have, often, been adopted as the classical anisotropic nanostructures owing to excellent shape-selective plasmonic tunability in the vis-NIR region.

The purpose of this study was to demonstrate heat transfer within oral soft tissues using different lasers under the effect of local anesthetics (LA). Bovine tongue slices were placed in between two glass slides and at a distance from a thermographic camera. In total, 2-cm-long 240 incisions were made along the surface of the tissue parallel to glass slides and the camera capture field.
