Two non-inverting buck-boost converters, one for each solar panel of the X and Y axes of CubeSat have been used to condition the power with a common output capacitor on DC bus. The power generated from each axis of the solar panel is added to the DC-bus along with the power generated by the less illuminated solar panels. For the proposed model, Synergetic control, Sliding Mode Control, and Super Twisting Sliding Mode Control algorithms have been implemented for the MPPT, and their results are compared with each other. The results indicate that the ST-SMC performs well and gives the best dynamic performance and robustness under varying load conditions of temperature, irradiance, and disturbance. Moreover, the stability of the system is validated by using the Lyapunov stability criterion.

The degradation performance of solar photovoltaic (SPV) panels, is a critical issue for its adoption. The current study introduces a novel dual-cooling technique to enhance the performance of the SPV panels under conditions of contamination from bird droppings. The front and backside temperatures, output power, and efficiency of the cooled SPV panels were evaluated and compared.

School of Physics and Materials Engineering, Hefei Normal University, Hefei 230601, PR China. Electronic address:

The development of cost-effective bifunctional electrocatalysts remains a great challenge. In this work, high-performance FeP-CoMoP/NF catalysts were prepared using the strategy of constructing phosphide heterostructures with localized photothermal effect. At 10 mA·cm, the HER overpotential of FeP-CoMoP/NF is 30.

Recent advances in lead-free halide perovskites have expanded their potential use in solar panels and optoelectronic applications. Motivated by their excellent properties, we investigate the physical characteristics of two lead-free halide perovskites, TlMCl (M = Ge, Sn), under hydrostatic pressure. This paper explores the pressure-induced semiconductor-to-metal phase transition in halide perovskites TlMCl (M = Ge, Sn), focusing on their optoelectronic and mechanical properties.

Highly Ordered Polymorphism of Small Molecule Acceptor Delivering Efficient and Stable Binary Organic Solar Cells.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

February 2025

Laboratory of Advanced Optoelectronic Materials, Suzhou Key Laboratory of Novel Semiconductor Materials and Devices, College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Soochow University, Suzhou, Jiangsu, 215123, P.R. China.

Advancements in narrow bandgap organic small molecule acceptors (SMAs) has promoted organic solar cell (OSC) efficiencies beyond 20%. Achieving this milestone necessitates precise control over the active layer morphology, particularly its crystallinity and phase distribution, to optimize light absorption, charge transport, and suppress charge recombination. However, controlling SMA morphology remains a significant challenge due to their strong aggregation tendency.
