Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Université de Paris, Hôpital Beaujon, AP-HP, Clichy, France.
Background: Perioperative management practices in liver transplantation (LT) evolve very quickly. There are few specific recommendations, often based on a low level of evidence, resulting in wide heterogeneity of practices.
Methods: We performed a survey in all 16 French centers in 2021 by focusing on center organization, preoperative cardiovascular assessment, antimicrobial prophylaxis, hemostasis management, intraoperative use of hemodynamic monitoring and renal replacement therapy, immunosuppression, and postoperative prevention of arterial complications and compared it with current recommendations.

Purpose: Free flap reconstruction for lower extremity (LE) trauma has a higher failure rate than free flaps in other anatomic regions. Post-operative anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy may influence LE free flap outcomes, but an optimal regimen has not been established. This study aims to evaluate complication rates associated with different anticoagulation and antiplatelet protocols in LE free flap reconstruction.

Introduction: Adult reconstruction fellowship-trained (FT) surgeons undergo an additional year of dedicated subspecialized training. The benefits of fellowship training include a comprehensive understanding of arthroplasty patient care and contemporary surgical techniques, as well as an expanded network of mentors and colleagues. The purpose of the present study was to compare practice variations between FT and non-fellowship-trained (NFT) surgeons, focusing on indications, perioperative prescribing patterns, and complication rates surrounding total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Background: Postoperative bleeding is one of the most common complications after mastectomy. Antithrombotic medications increase the risk of these complications but discontinuing them may predispose the patient to thromboembolic events. This study aimed to evaluate whether antithrombotic medications can be safely continued perioperatively when ultrasonic instrument is used in surgery.
