A passive sampler was used to effectively monitor trace volatile organic compound (VOC) concentrations in the atmosphere. VOCs are typically extracted from passive samplers using CS, which is a volatile and hazardous chemical that can leave residues and damage the mass spectrometry (MS) system during gas chromatography (GC)-MS. This study aims to develop and validate alternative solvent extraction methods using acetone, ethanol, n-hexane, and a solution of 99% acetone and 1% CS (ATCS) for VOCs from passive samplers using a standard GC-MS system.

State Key Laboratory of Herbage Improvement and Grassland Agro-ecosystems, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China.

Introduction: Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi play a crucial role in maintaining diversity and ensuring the proper functioning of grassland ecosystems. A comprehensive understanding of the diversity, distribution patterns, and drivers of AM fungi in different habitats is essential for exploring the ecological roles in grassland ecosystems.

Methods: In this study, we utilized high-throughput sequencing technology to explore the diversity of AM fungi and their distribution at an altitude of approximately 3,500 m in the alpine grassland of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.

Mahonia eurybracteata exhibits characteristics related to heat dissipation, nutritional supplementation, and possesses antimicrobial and anticancer properties. Despite its widespread cultivation through artificial means, the detrimental impact of anthracnose on its growth has led to extensive reliance on chemical pesticides for disease control. Unscientific pesticide application and the use of outdated spraying techniques contribute to the presence of pesticide residues in both plants and the environment, thereby posing potential risks.
