Platform technologies in the narrower sense refer to approaches to vaccine development in which the vaccine is always based on a consistently identical framework and differs only in terms of the antigen. One advantage of platform technologies is their rapid adaptability for the development of a vaccine against novel pathogens or variants. Currently approved vaccines in the EU use viral vectors and mRNA as platforms. Recombinant adenoviruses (Ad), vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), and modified vaccinia virus Ankara (MVA) serve as viral vectors. The application of mRNA-based vaccines is carried out in the form of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The function of the LNPs is to protect the mRNA from degradation, promote the uptake of the mRNA into the cells, and provide an adjuvant effect.

Cell-free synthetic biology biosensors have potential as effective diagnostic technologies for the detection of chemical compounds, such as toxins and human health biomarkers. They have several advantages over conventional laboratory-based diagnostic approaches, including the ability to be assembled, freeze-dried, distributed, and then used at the point of need. This makes them an attractive platform for cheap and rapid chemical detection across the globe.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to investigate the association of perceived discrimination with health outcomes and disparities.
Materials And Methods: The study cohort consists of 60 180 participants from the 4 largest self-identified race and ethnicity (SIRE) groups in the All of Us Research Program participant body: Asian (1291), Black (4726), Hispanic (5336), and White (48 827). A perceived discrimination index (PDI) was derived from participant responses to the "Social Determinants of Health" survey, and the All of Us Researcher Workbench was used to analyze associations and mediation effects of PDI and SIRE with 1755 diseases.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a highly metastatic malignancy. More than 80% of patients with PC present with advanced-stage disease, preventing potentially curative surgery. The neuropeptide Y (NPY) system, best known for its role in controlling energy homeostasis, has also been shown to promote tumorigenesis in a range of cancer types, but its role in PC has yet to be explored.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes, mediate intercellular communication by transporting functional molecules between donor cells and recipient cells, thereby regulating biological processes, such as immune responses. miR-451a, an immune regulatory microRNA, is highly abundant in circulating EVs; however, its precise physiological significance remains to be fully elucidated. Here, we demonstrate that miR-451a deficiency exacerbates delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) in mice.

Background: The relationship between assisted reproductive technology (ART) and childhood cancer risk has been widely debated. Previous meta-analyses did not adequately account for the impact of infertility, and this study addresses this gap.
Objective: Our primary objective was to assess the relative risk (RR) of childhood cancer in infertile populations using ART versus non-ART offspring, with a secondary focus on comparing frozen embryo transfer (FET) and fresh embryo transfer (fresh-ET).
