Bispecific antibody therapy for lymphoma.

Best Pract Res Clin Haematol

December 2024

330 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA, 02215, USA. Electronic address:

The rapid development of novel therapeutics in B-cell Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL) over the past decade has presented a critical inflection point for the field. Bispecific antibodies are one such therapeutic class emerging as an effective, off-the-shelf option for B-NHL. In this review, we focus primarily on Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), highlighting the evolution, comparison, tolerability, ongoing challenges, and future potential of bispecific antibodies that are currently approved or in clinical trials for B-NHL.

Karpagam College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore 641 032 Tamil Nadu, India; The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai 600032 Tamil Nadu, India. Electronic address:

Introduction: Improving the pharmacokinetics of drugs is achieved through nano formulations and the role of natural product in the synthesis of nanomaterials is gaining prominence due to its eco-friendly nature, cost-effectiveness, and demonstrated efficacy. Metal nanoparticles (NPs) derived from Ipomoea aquatica Forsskal have been synthesized and evaluated for their antioxidant and antidiabetic properties towards enhancing the anticancer activity of the plant extracts.

Methodology: Hydroalcoholic extract was obtained from the entire Ipomoea aquatica plant and utilized as a key ingredient in the green synthesis of metal NPs.

Background: Patients with both heart failure (HF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are often treated with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi), but these drugs can cause hyperkalemia, which may lead to their reduction or discontinuation, resulting in the loss of their beneficial effects. Approaches to managing RAASi-induced hyperkalemia are discordant, so in this study we aimed to establish a cross-specialty consensus on the optimal approach to managing hyperkalemia in patients with HF and CKD.

Methods And Results: The study used a modified Delphi methodology.

Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University, Changsha 410083.

Objectives: Small interfering RNA (siRNA) can silence disease-related genes through sequence-specific RNA interference (RNAi). Cationic lipid-based liposomes effectively deliver nucleic acids into the cytoplasm but often exhibit significant toxicity. This study aims to synthesize a novel ionizable lipid, Nε-laruoyl-lysine amide (LKA), from natural amino acids, constructed LKA-based liposomes, and perform physicochemical characterization and cell-based experiments to systematically evaluate the potential of these ionizable lipid-based liposomes for nucleic acid delivery.

Mechanisms for absorption improvement of drugs with low water-solubility by self-microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS) are still controversial except for solubility improvement. We attempted to clarify the mechanisms by utilizing model drugs classified as biopharmaceutics classification system class II. In the in-vitro transport study for microemulsions (MEs) formed from SMEDDS, the permeation clearance (CL) calculated based on free drug concentrations in MEs, was significantly larger than the CL for aqueous solution.
