This case report describes the successful surgical treatment of a young (3-year-old) male Labrador retriever dog with mineralization of the tendon and bursa of the infraspinatus muscle. The condition was diagnosed physical and orthopedic examination in addition to computed tomographic imaging. The dog underwent medical treatment involving rest, controlled exercise, deracoxib, shockwave therapy, and intra-articular glucocorticoid injections without success before surgical correction.

The inflammatory environment of periodontitis with bacteria, excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) and limited regenerative capacity of alveolar bone makes reconstruction of periodontium become a huge challenge. The present strategies, such as local debridement and antibiotic injection, are difficult to solve above problems completely. Thus, to reverse the progression of the disease, Ca-tannic acid nanocomposites loaded into injectable sodium alginate/4-arm polyethylene glycol-lipoic acid hydrogel (CaTA@Gel) were fabricated, including Ca‑sodium alginate (SA) ionic crosslinking and radical polymerization of lipoic acid-modified 4-arm polyethylene glycol (PEG-SS) under UV illumination.

The arytenoid cartilages are distinguished by their mobility and unique mixed composition of hyaline and elastic cartilage. Though laryngeal cartilage ossification is not rare, and its pattern is well-studied, sole complete and bilateral arytenoid cartilage ossification is an aberration. An 84-year-old woman, with no history of voice or breathing issues, was brought to the emergency department for a head-and-neck trauma following a fall.

This perspective article proposes that the induction of bone by recombinant human bone morphogenetic proteins (hBMPs), and by the recombinant human transforming growth factor-β (hTGF-β), the latter only in primates, recapitulates embryonic development, whereby large ossicles de novo form in heterotopic intramuscular sites, where several responding cells are available with marked vascular invasion. The induction of bone initiates with the induction of cartilage' anlages recapitulating development. Selected recombinant hBMPs, hBMP-2 and hOP-1 (hBMP-7) on the other hand, fail to induce significant osteoinduction in orthotopic intraskeletal sites in clinical contexts.

Purpose: To investigate whether os acetabuli identified preoperatively influence functional outcomes 2 years after an arthroscopic acetabular labral reconstruction.
Methods: Retrospective study with prospectively collected data of patients undergoing primary hip arthroscopy by a single, fellowship-trained surgeon at a single institution were retrospectively reviewed. Inclusion criteria included age ≥18 years and completion of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) preoperatively and at 3-month, 6-month, 12-month, and last follow-up timepoints.
